I petitioned asking where was the normal market warning when placing sell orders under 50% and was told that is only for multiple items and not single items. now hang on, there is a warning if I sell two or more 100k isk items that I may be underselling but if I sell a 1.3 billion ship for 1.29 million there is no warning and the item is gone foroever.
To me this is clearly a broken game mechanic and needs to be fixed. I know someone else did the same thing with a carrier.
The warning system is very bugged in any case. It's really something CCP need to get sorted, although they do seem to have got rid of the multiple false positives that used to come up.

By turning that box off, you did something as dumb as removing the batteries from your smoke detector.
You don't have to turn the box off. The system is broken and just doesn't work half the time (it's particularly bad just after downtime). It's been like that for years sadly. If you accidentally overprice something and don't get the warning CCP will reimburse the excess broker fees but they won't fix it if you sell under as that would involve reversing a deal with another player.

I'm not sure you can call it victim blaming when it was entirely his fault. Fixing the warning would be nice, but you should double check what you're typing.
I can't see how this can be considered entirely his fault. CCP implemented a mechanism to stop this happening. That mechanism is broken. It is not unreasonable to expect implemented game features to work and to rely on them working. The whole 'lol, tears, ur fault loser' narrative is a pretty ****** way to respond to someone who is rightly complaining that something is still broken half a decade or more after it was brought in. Yes, most of us have got used to the fact that the mechanic is broken but assuming stuff is broken shouldn't be the default way of approaching the game and excusing CCP's incompetence because 'it's funny that someone is upset' is not the way to get the game to improve.

Nerath Naaris wrote:Meh, I recently lost 800 mil just on fukking Broker Fees. And no warning either because after the last expansion it is partly broken.
Irony that I actually posted about this very same thing in the Phoebe issues thread....
Then again, someone else recently sold me a 60+ million module for 600k so there is that.
If you lost out on broker fees through overpricing an item and didn't get the price warning CCP will typically refund you if you take the order off the market asap. As long as no other player interacts wit your order they don't have a problem fixing things. I lost nearly 3bil on broker fees once by putting three (!) extra digits on a cheap commodity that was way outside the price range of everything else I sell and CCP were willing to refund it. But there's no point even trying when the loss is to another player rather than to CCP as they won't reverse that kind of interaction.
