Concerns about player choice simply have no bearing in a situation involving items regularly put into the game as an "in-joke." Last year we didn't have a choice either. Everything was pretty much random except for the static items like Fedos, Snowballs, Launchers, etc. tl;dr: No, you can't make that argument here and even if you could it's just thinly veiled whine stemming from some undeserved feeling of entitlement.

I wanted to see the Yule Lads, they were my favorite part of Christmas last year. I do like that CCP has a sense of humor about their game and that they involve players by naming things after them or creating items that reflect player actions. The DUST514 forum says that there is a Snowball Launcher. I haven't logged on to buy some but I am going to when I get home.
