PvP Basic Class, August 27th
There will be a lot of people in the game that try and tell you that you need millions of skillpoints and tons of money to get involved in pvp. They are flat out wrong. The August 27th pvp basic class hhad mostly poeple that were extremely new to the game or had never done pvp before. The result was dramatic. Check it out and visit Agony Unleashed PvP University to find out how you can get out of the asteriod fields and into the mix.
You DO NOT need to join Agony to take our courses. All you need is a little bit of money and a lot of desire to have fun.
Please feel free to ask any questions you might have about pvp or pvp university on this thread and AGONY staff will answer them.

Hi Rells, I had a question I've been wanting to ask you for a while. Can I fly a T1 frigate for my full career and still do ok? Or at some point is it time to upgrade to a multi-million isk T2 ship?

You could if you wished but you will find that as you get more ambitions and money, your desires will grow. I personally am a frig specialist with high skills in the core skills that you need (engineering, missiles, etc). This allows me to fly tech 1 or 2 frigates very well. These days I dont get much of a rush when I am in tech 1 ships and so I fly mostly tech 2 frigs and we can be QUITE lethal with them.

Who is it exactly that you kill during your PVP class? I and my corp mates might be interested in taking your class for fun and to see if we can learn something new, but we are not Pirates and we do not want to blow up random miners in asteroid fields and lose our security standing. I have been reading a few of your posts throughout this message board, but from what I have read, you have not been very clear on that point. If we take the class, who exactly are we going to be killing?

They fly around Syndicate. Its a pretty much lawless 0.0 region mostly filled with PvPers.

I read the ROE on your website and so for clarification, there should be no targets killed that will affect my security standing or Gallente Federation standing negatively? Also, what does NBSI mean? I know it means "Not Blue Shoot It," but who or what is blue? I've been playing this game for about half a year and the only people I've seen in my overview with color, are red (-5.0 standing), yellow (negative standing). Additionally, there are the green and purple boxes with white stars in them for corp and gang members. So who and what is blue? If I shoot everyone who is not blue... it will pretty much be everybody, which would seem to contradict your ROE.

A normal overview setting is to set a blue background for pilots in your alliance or with whom you or your corp has set a positive standing, hence the letters NBSI. Everybody else will be shot at, which for a normal class night means everybody.
As for standings, you will loose standings, even in 0.0 towards the noob corps that everybody starts in. I can't remember all their names ([SWA] just remembered one) , but a lot of people fly in 0.0 with alts that have never joined a player corp. When we shoot those you loose standings rowards that starter corp. You will not loose security standing at all.

Yoshi is right. In 0.0 anything will generally shoot at you if it isnt in your gang or has standings with you. You would be well advised to do the same. Since agony has neither good nor bad standings with ANYONE, it makes it easy. So anyone not in the gang and not in AGONY is a potential target if we can catch them. We arent out the for the diplomacy.

Thanks for the clarification on NBSI and how your class works. Regarding your comments on shooting everybody in 0.0, I have to disagree from personal experience. I've been flying in 0.0 since my first month, when I chugged out their in my Exequror. The only people who tried to kill me were Pirates and 2 WCS and being quick on my toes helped me avoid them. Everyone else was friendly and I made a lot of friends out there, especially the miners. That was in Syndicate, if I recall, so maybe it is different in other regions of 0.0 space.

I find this to be amazing for syndicate. It is well known for being one of the more vicious areas in the game. In 0.0 anyone that leaves you alone without reciprocal standings to them will be taking an enormous risk. These days Syndicate is rife with rampant PvP and that is why we love it. (Though targets seem to be running dry these days).

this course is brilliant, it's absolutely worth the 5 million ISK it costs, i can't recomment it highly enough - no matter how good you are (or think you are), you're guaranteed to learn something valuable.
i'm looking forward to my lovely lady starting to work weekends again so I can attend another of these courses without the usual interuptions :)

I would recomend this course to EVERYONE who is just starting out Eve (and some veterens too). This includes those people who do NOT want to go into pvp totally as it will give you the basis for defending yourself in Eve. Rells and his staff have created a system of instruction that works here folks. So weather you are an industrialist or a brand new character im gonna tell you what your dad most likely said while you were in high school (or for our younger members still says). GO TO CLASS.
You will first and foremost learn how to defend yourself. Then you will have a blast as this type of combat is some of the funnest in the game

We ran into Rells in MHC-R3 last night, they usually hang around that area.
Nice Harpy Rells, we'll get it one of these days . But enough of that, although I was a little skeptical of its usefulness when it first started, this course seems to be actually effective, so if you're new I'd suggest giving it a try. In fact, I might send a few very young and eager recruits my corp is looking into your way, and make them take the classes to get their heads on straight .
Tharsis needs some ! |
