Robert Sawyer wrote:Seriously, I am wavering between playing and quitting EVE. It's just getting very boring. In nullsec, there is nothing else to do but mine, explore and rat. That's about it. You could PvP but it would be very frustrating. Lowsec is fun, but I generally get killed by Ishtars, Enyos, Harpies and other T2 ships. Highsec is where I get gangbanged by a ton of mercs. Lots of Lokis that one-shot me.
Exploration feels boring... I somehow never find data sites, and if I do they contain poor loot. My skills are too low for doing sleeper sites, and my ratting is often slow and painful. Solo PvP gets repetitive, and after a while you realize that it's just lock-on, activate guns and wait for the bugger to die. Mining is PAINFULLY boring, and manufacturing sucks. I really don't want to quit this game, but the sheer amount of boredom is forcing my hand. Please, somebody! Please give me ideas of what to do so I can start having fun again in EVE!
Hi
The advice that has been given in this thread so far is nothing short of stupid, whats the point of a game if you have to leave it every now and then to enjoy it, play some benny hill music when reading some of the clueless replies from those clowns, they ain't got a clue.
Like you i've tried everything in game and found every activity to be horribly boring. The problem you , and most people that have replied to this thread forget, is that this is a sandbox, all the pve activities available are there for you to make isk, nothing more. That isk is meant to be spent on having fun. Your sec status is meant to be spent on having fun.
As you state, low sec is shite, no matter what you do. 0.0 alliances are either 2 hour roams for an industrial kill, huge blob fights, or a mail box full of pointless mails from some irrelvant dickhead.
Around april this year i almost bio massed my characters and prepared a **** you mail to ccp. I then came across Code. Once i learned the ropes i have never enjoyed a game more than eve online right now. Killing miners and afk'ers is the most fun you can have. It's all about generating your own content.
Logging in to a mail box full of hate mails will make you laugh way more than any content that any entity in game can provide. The guys in Code alliance & the minerbumping channel are the nicest, most helpfull people i've met in this game ever. The teamspeak couldn't be better.
Around 30% of the miners/afk'ers that i kill convo me afterwards and ask how they can get involved. I've trained many new/old players in the art of ganking, theres way more to it and way more work than most people realise, but it is incredibly rewarding. All your ships are paid for and you get to keep the loot, and if your dedicated enough you can earn plex to run your account every month, it couldn't be better.
Join the minerbumping channel and get involved, or contact me ingame, i'll help you as much as i can.
Your friend
Hal
