Hello world,
I was suggested to check into faction warfare farming for ISK making as a newbie. I have been reading left and right on the topic from eve university site and google.
Which faction would be currently the most lucrative to farm for, and have you got any tips I should keep in mind? Newbie fittings would be appreciated too. The proposed idea would be to just sit in the complexes and wait for isk to tick in, warp out if someone sits next to you.
Merry christmas by the way |

Uhm. I wouldn't even do it.
But then again, I hate plex-farmers, they are the biggest example of carebears.

You want to see which faction is currently on a high teir. Use a ship like an incursus to tank the plex rat (not sure if they changed how plexes work, but list time I did FW you could run the plex without needing to kill the rat, basically meaning you never lost faction standings)
Once the faction goes lowteir, wait for market to spike for faction ammo/items and cash out/switch to the next faction with high teir. It's an ebb and flow effect.
Please also note that all the isk comes in the form of LP, so it's not 'instant' isk, you gotta convert it into easily sellable items. Faction Ammo (like caldari navy antimatter/republic fleet emp) and implants (training implants/mindlinks) are the general staples.

You can sit and farm LP (loyalty points) using a completely empty ship. Just the hull, no fittings, nothing else. You'll be defensive plexing which is much less lucrative than offensive plexing.
You'll need to learn how to set-up and use your Directional Scanner, Probe Scanner, and Local Chat.
And while you're at it you may want to get yourself involved with a corporation and learn as much as possible about the mechanics of FW as well as some PvP skills, you'll need them if you ever want to do more than farm.

Hey there,
Faction Warfare has changed a lot since I used to do it as a full time career. I have an alt that I've recently placed in the Caldari. Let me run some numbers by you -
The rats in offensive plexes are fast, so ideally you'll want a web (or two) to slow them down. For a Novice plex, 50 DPS seems sufficient to kill the rat. For a Small, you want 100, and for a Medium, you want around 180+.
You want to farm for the group with the least territory. Being in high tier is meaningless if there's only a few camped systems to farm. Right now Minmatar is a good bet, as Amarr own almost the entire map, so there's plenty of backwater systems to farm.
FW isn't what it used to be and due to whiners, plexing isn't as lucrative as it used to be, but it's still a fairly decent way to make money. Prepare for some hate though; people dislike the idea of you being able to make money in lowsec and not being able to kill you.

isn't that like one of the main ways to make isk while in FW though?
PS: I'm about 90% clueless when it comes to fw.

One more question:
How/where do I join FW? I had an invite of sorts from the trial agents but have forgotten where it is... |

pretty sure you can open the militia window and press the enlist button. Either that or join a corp that is already in FW.

There are 2 types of FW players
A. The in my opinion true FW players. They stick with a side, they fight for their systems etc.
B. The plex-farmers. They just join for LP, then switch sides when the other side is better for LP farming.
The 2nd, we can totally do without.
