Back on March 10th i purchased the power of 2 offer so i could try the new characters, and without the monthly payments i hadnt given it a second thought about when it expired.....until today.
I come to log in and get told the account is expired....fair enough the six months are up,and i had always planned on moving the character to one of my other accounts so it wasnt a big deal. So i come to the eve website to transfer the character from the power of 2 account to one of the other 2 accounts i already have, but all i get a nice message that the account is expired.
Am i really expected to have to pay to renew the account another month, just so that i can then pay to transfer the character to one of my other accounts......and then immediately cancel the account?
If i had been informed on the 10th that my account was at its end i could have transfered my character without having to renew an account i dont want. To add salt to the wounds the vast majoirty of my assets are sat in my power of 2 character as well as a nice set of skills (of which the training finished 8 hours ago so im now losing training time while i await a petition response).
I hope others with the power of 2 offer remember to check when it outdates incase they were thinking of transfering the character rather than renewing, a warning would have been nice, but it really sucks that im basically unable to play because everything i have is sunk with the other character. Is there anyway of having this sorted quickly? Thanks for any info

When my power of 2 account died last week, I grabed my CC and put a few months of service on the account. It took about 2 minutes.
All sorted.
Also, 6 months, is it really that hard to... you know... think for your god damn self? Do you forget to pay your rent if someone doesn't remind you? ___________________________________________ The deeper you stick it in your vein, the deeper the thoughts there's no more pain. ___________________________________________

Shocking news Vert. As a fee paying customer I expect much better treatment than that..........as I'm sure most players of Eve would expect.
I would hope you would get your assets and character back along with any lost training time.

Apoligies for not having the memory i can compare to an elephant, but it would have been nice to get a warning that the account is about out. And all i want to do is transfer the character, not really great that i would have to pay for another month i wont use just so i can...

if you dont pay your phonebills or electric bills it also gets shut off. its your own fault for not paying on time.

Your missing quite a lot......bills you get reminders for in the post to pay them, and the power of 2 offer required a one of payment six months ago. Next time a bill comes through leave it for six months and then pay it on the exact day, im sure you would forget to without a reminder. (edit-typos)

But when your account expires, you're not really a paying customer anymore ^^ - - - - - - I have no strong feelings one way or the other... |

You took advantage of a time limited offer. And then you planned to wait to the last minute, and move the character to another account.
Recently, it didn't occure to you to think hey, it's been six months. So now in order to carry out your plans, you need to reup the account.
This is in no way unfair, unreasonable or extortion.
Althought, it would seem reasonable to allow character transfers from inactive accounts. IMO.

You have my argument in one, yes its my bad i forgot, however these people saying about bills obviously dont get mail reminding them to pay they are just good citizens who remember every quater on the right day that its time to pay the phone bill. A reminder would have been nice, but im not going to pay another months fees just to access a character for 5 minutes to transfer it. Transfering the char from a inactive account wouldnt harm anyone, would it?

In all fairness I don't get any reminder to pay rent, nor does anyone I know. Loans are typically the same way. The main reason I can see for monthly phone/utility bills being mailed out is that the amount due chances with each month.

This guy only took up an offer.....were not talking trial account leech. He took up an offer that has backfired and caused him more problems than its worth. FFS he pays his way like the rest of us and just wants to be where he left off!

And since when was rent or loans paid in six month intervals? I pay my bills monthly without forgetting, including this account. simply put there was a large gap of time compared to normal and i didnt think about it, there was no reminder and now ive lost all my assets. All im asking for is some help to see if its possible to transfer the character as i dont wish to pay a months fee for 5 minutes, Im not asking how amazing your memory is with your bills.

No offence, but have you found the help you are looking for?
You are over 6 months old in game, at least. You should know better then to ask for this kind of help on the forums. Contact CCP directly.
As far as I am concerned with your problem, CCP are not babysitters. If I was CCP; you would pay the month for the 5 minutes. Or live with the consequences. "Lack of planning on your part does not constitute panic on mine!"

Option 1: Pay for the month and use it to train another months worth of skills then transfer the account. +: No wasted money since you get another month of training time. -: Costs and extra $15 in the long run.
Option 2: Pay for a month and transfer your other accounts character to your Power of 2 characters account. +: Doesn't cost you any extra money. -: Might not work if you have 2 characters on your main account which you want to keep.
Option 3: Waste a month waiting for a petetion to be answered and most likely be ****ed off at the results. +: Get to play the innocent victim. -: Long wait and poor chance of succeeding.
CCP is under absolutely no obligation to inform you when your bill is due. Would it be nice if they did? Sure, but its hardly essential. Take a step back and look at what you are petetioning here and figure out what your chances are of winning vs. the time it will take for the petetion to be answered. It seems to me that options 1 and 2 above have a much higher chance of getting you back on your way in a resonable amount of time than option 3.

I think that stinks Vert but I would just renew for now and then transfer. Sure it stinks to have to spend the cash, but its better then continueing to lose training time and get frustrated trying to find a work around.

You expect what, CCP to send you emails letting you know your account is ready to expire?
As a grown adult, I'd hope people pay attention to when bills are due.

Happened to me too.
Even just an eve-mail reminder would have been useful. I'd forgotten it was nearly 6 months to the minute when I logged on....

I don't think this quite falls in the "bills" category. This is a service that you pay for. If you decide to discontinue the service, it doesn't hurt you, but it hurts the company. I would expect it to be in the best interest of the company to send you a friendly reminder before your account expires (much the same way as any other paid online service....web hosting, adult sites, etc..)

Hope you all are enjoying beating up the man for a small oversight. This falls under bad customer sevice on the part of CCP. It would even be in CCP's own interest to let people know since it let's people know its time to give CCP more money.
It was a one-time service so comparison's to monthly bills seem a bit poor. Besides, I hope you place a higher priority on paying to keep a roof over your head than on playing Eve.
I sympatize with you Vertoxz, and apparently that makes me a wierdo around here. If I had to make the call, I'd allow the transfer without reactivating the account but lost skill time is lost. Sorry, but you did make a teeny tiny mistake and a day or two's unpaid non-training seems like a small enough consequence.
