Its annoying losing a ship. But it happens to us all. It does get frustrating and what you percieve as a lack of repsonse from the powers that be at ccp, may even lead to a sense of mild paranoia.
Unfortunately, your initial title and subsequent outbursts will leave many who read / post in this forum some what reluctant to help.
You have stated your machine hangs at certain times. and the help that has been given re soundcard is valid. Also assuming you are using the standard ati drivers ( although up to date) I would advise the Omega ones.
Check for unwanted Tsrs ( applications that sit on your system doing nothing except awating activation )and make sure you HD isk defragmented. Disable any un wanted apps running in the background. turn off your AV etc . And basically to a full house clean on your system.
I Hope this helps.

Ok, for all you lovely people out there, I have a foolproof way of solving the petition problem. The next time you lose a ship from something happening say to yourself "Bugger, that sucks" then be happy with the insurance iskies you got for it and get yourself another one, you'll be much happier in the long run and you've COMPLETELY avoided the petition queue, tada!

Ahhh...here is the beauty of it. You don't have to pay for the game! You choose to pay for it. Sounds like your computer is giving you fits, you don't have the technical expertise to fix it, and you want to blast CCP blaming them. Try being polite and I bet you could get help.

Yeah, we can see how reasonable your temper is, its not like you've already abused people in this thread. Why wouldn't they bend over backwards to help you?
And you lost a ship during a mission due to yourcomputer freezing up. You then claim this is CCP's fault with no backup to your arguement. You claim to be none tech savy, but then say you've checked that the problem was not your end. You then submit a "Mission Stuck" petition for your lost ship because of a computer freeze up, not because the mission is "stuck". You then abused the person that tried to help you with a problem on your PC which is not CCPs responsibility at all to even worry about.
...and then you wonder why you're redirected to the reimbersment petition queue, which you were purposely trying to avoid because you know the its got a long queue on it dispite knowing it was the right place. So you came here to whine about it...

Ok I was wrong. I work in Sales and have ppl screaming at me everyday. No excuse screaming at the GM. Anyway of apologizing to the ppl?
Should I upgrade my system? I want to play the game smoothly. Appreciate the help.
Sorry for all the insults. Been at the computer the whole day. Was tempted to use the "fist of god" on it due to hunger.

I had a problem with Maxtor Hardrives and it kept crashing my pc and writing of the OS sectors (don't know why). I got a different make of hardrive and I haven't had any problems, eve runs better cos its a faster hardrive as well :)

Originally by: Ngry While running a mission called Pirate Invasion lvl 3 my com hangs in the second section. I tried doing it 5 times and always the same result. I filed a petition critizing them for it and the came up with a suggestion of clearing my cache which I already done on the second try. Then they suggested using the temp-cache method. I got into the second section of the mission had just enought time to release my drones before it hanged. I was ****ed so I cursed the GM. After that they closed my petition and asked me to try 'Reimbursement' section. Which btw still hasn't replied me on the BS that I lost due to a major lag 2 days ago. I know they are doing. They are just passing me from dept to dept until I give up on this. Never gonna happen. I want to know if anyone else here has this problem. I like the game but I do not like paying for this kinda service.
Mordu's Headhunters lvl 4 also does this as well as several other lvl 4 missions. It seems as if the activity level of the NPC's in the stage have adverse effect on the client running the character which is being agroed. I've had 2-3 RL mates sit right next to me at a netcafT. We're all in the same mission stage together, and then we're all hit by massive framedrops (to about 10 FPS from 30-50 FPS). About 30% of the time, the client bring aggroed locks up.
I've lost two Cerberus and two Ravens so far. (and that's on 3 different types of machines and everything from dual 6 Mbit fiberoptic lines to my own 2mbit DSL at home. So far I can only say that Mordus Headhunters lvl. 4 (last regular stage) definately has the problem, but other missions are also affected by this "lag".

Now that's the spirit, don't send a petition saying sorry though ^^ Yeah, some good advice already here about how to try and fix it if it's on you end, hey, even if it isn't then doing these things will speed up your computer. I know what stress is like too so I offer a free hug to be redeemed whenever you like. I hope something gets sorted out for you.

There's a huge difference between Mordus Headhunters lvl 4 and Pirate Invasion lvl 3. Mainly that the second stage of Pirate Invasion involves a grand total of 4 ships in empty featureless space while Mordus Headhunters 4 involves 75 ships and a ton of background debris/nebula effects.
I really really doubt it's the same problem.

Ok An initial test just to see how many programs are running in the background.
rightclick over and empty space on the task bar.
Select task manager , click on the processes tab.
Anything over 20 processes (imho) is not an ideal for any type of gaming.
Then I would suggest goint to The elder geek .com
And read through what is ggod and what is 'bad'
Hope this helps

I think everyone needs to stop complaining here... He has a right to be mad about this, customers should get better support than having to wait 3 months for a petition to get answered.
Now, making a post on the forums is flame-bait at best, but we still deserve better treatment.

Well, you seem to have settled down a bit so you might get some help now.
Have you tried the following;
- clear the cache folder (apart from prefs.ini, the settings folder, pictures/portraits folder and browser folder) - tone down on the grahpics setting ingame - disable sound in EVE - reboot your computer (some people almost never reboot) - check if you don't have 15 bazillion unneeded programs running (thone funny little, sometimes useful things you see bottom right of your screen) - open up your computer case (it could be a heat problem from the vidcard for instance) - update your videocard drivers

Its possable that you ahve found a previously unknown Bug of some sort if so bugreport it and someday soona a developer will inveastigate it to see if he can duplicate it. If it is a problem Eve side he will find it if you report the cercumstances correctly if it is a problem from your end tho [most likely] then nothing will change.
Personally im betting its a problem from your end as no-one else has this problem. -----------------------------------------------

Not entirely. My corpmate got his navy raven back after petitioning a lvl IV spot that he crashed in. It turns out that the lvl IV he was running has a bug in it and will crash. While he was waiting... he got a normal raven and continued to run missions though. He was actually suprisingly calm about the whole thing. Sure he thought it sucked hard when he was waiting, but all in all he took it pretty well.
