So what happened to 5 playable races anyway?

Once that happens your character dies and you become a Jove(new toon) you still have all the skills of your old character however and a crap load of new skills have opened unknown to all others that are jove only. Ie you will need to be max in all other "normal" skills before you can train jove frig. Odds of this happening 0. CCp always adds new skills

Just Smith Shinra Lotka Volterra	Posted - 2006.09.13 17:29:00 - [37] How about allow your alt to be a jove char who can also train on the same account but if he gets pod killed he gets deleted. maybe not allow him to train any industry skills to stop people just training him for a carebear alt. also no jove ships at all as they should be for events only have it so the jove alts are run aways and not suppoted by the jove gov so they have to use normal empire ships

The jove don't care about helping others fight their battles, they're sitting back in their empire, trying to save themselves, while watching all our movements with their insanely effective intelligence network. No rules, just a few people that can 'promote' players if they see enough reason to do so. It really isn't that much trouble - the ones that are worthy of this already stand out as being just that, and actively looking for people to give this chance to is not needed. Calling them 'toons' is usually just an indication of people who came over from EQ or WoW. It is probably most common for people to refer to them as characters here in eve.

I read it from this forum a couple months back...I'd use the Search function but tbh it's quite sucky

Other than that, I for sure wonder if they have any intentions of bringing the race in to the game at all. I suspect that in order to bring the race in to the game they need to design ships for them and give the race something unique, like wepon systems, ship designs, race abilities, and some more storyline stuff, so they fitt in. And with the devs working 24/7 trying to reduce lagg and balance the current game in general I wouldn't blame them. Jove is suppose to be some serious high-tech race so I wonder if they'll manage to come up with some original stuff for them. ________________________________________________ ________________________________________________

Well the whole fiction backdrop for jove is already in place and several ships already exist (I would presume weapons as well). Many good points here though, introducing jove to the playerbase would be (at best) problematic and the proverbial equivalent of opening pandoras box. Still, I feel slighted because I was promised something that was not only never delivered, but no inkling of a timetable or possibility has ever been mentioned since it was promised. Thus this post.
