Edited by: Leon 026 on 13/09/2006 15:45:27 Why do people constantly ask about 'best ships'?
"Its liek lolz i want 2 fly teh ub3r_er sh1p cuz every1 else is flying it omgwtflolz"
There is no such thing as 'best ship'. There is only "ship I can fly best with my skills". All interceptors, if used in their specific role with focused skills will out-perform others. A good Ares pilot with skills fully specialized for flying an Ares will always beat a stupid bandwagon jumping cookie-cutter crow.
Its not about what ships are "flavor of the month" because people tell you its good, its about finding what ship suits your style best and allows you to push your machine to its maximum capabilities.
PS. If you want to be a tackle-*****, a T1 frig or Jaguar works better instead of putting in 15mil+ on a tackling inty that'll get insta popped against people that know how to fight off inties. -------------------------------

faction kitted crows are annoying as hell. Orbiting at 26km with nothing you can do to catch them On the plus side though they don't really do much dps so unless they caught you at a belt you can usually just move to the gate or station and leave.

I don't know what the best is...in fact I'm far from it. I do however like the Raptor. It's low cost, it's plenty fast enough and since all I've flown in my meager 3 months is the Condor and Raptor I've come to like the rapid firing of the guns combined with missiles. It does everything I could want at this point and I would take it over the Crow all things considered. Yes I am new but it's what I am comfortable with. If the Crow was the same price, then I'd have some more thinking to do. I can't name them off the top of my head(sorry), but in addition to a smaller signature radius the Raptor did have some other pluses when compared head to head with the Crow. I'm certain there are better out there, but I went with Caldari ships and am sticking with them and thus am unfamiliar with the other races aside from the general aspects of them.
Thanks and have a great night!

The answer is quite simply
Crow.
Crow makes a great close range inty vs inty ship, and it also excels at the role of tackling thanks to its 3 mid slots.
For pure gatecamp point laying ability, the stileto is the best. However, overall the crow cannot be beat.

Raptor can also achieve a higher DPS than a crow by fitting blasters and rockets. -------------------------------
