Being obnoxious and argumentative isn't trolling, it's simply being argumentative and obnoxious under some sort of internet safety banner to score points against someone equally daft. If you want to test this theory, try screeching "YOUR ARGUMENT IS FALLACIOUS" or "THAT WAS AN ASININE THING TO SAY" at any member of your family, colleagues or friends and watch them squint at you as if you just grew a second head (which they are about to punch). If you replace 'trolling' with ribbing/taking the mickey/poking fun it's just a form of verbal banter in the world. Maybe sometimes with an edge, maybe sometimes mistimed. If you can't take it in good humour, learn. You can just wander in and out of topics and remark without being dragged into a lengthy back-and-forth btw. Give the arsey ones 3 replies, then skip to the insults, then give them the finger and leg it. There's no need to flounce off and sulk btw. Forum usage tip: lurk first, judge the tone, respond to comments, and start topics (in the appropriate setting) when you can deal with the monsters. DON'T BE RIDICULOUS!
