Quote: 2006.09.13 18:04 Mercenary Coalition has declared war on Namtz'aar k'in. After 24 hours fighting can legally occur between those involved.
It has begun.
If you are based in the Molden Heath region, buy some ammo. You're going to need it. See all of you soon. -

PS I wont forget that magical night in rens we shared.
That was not you, it was Bandit and it was in London by the river. So much for secrets...
Originally by: Phrixus Zephyr ROFL. Nice tough contract you guys have taken on. Don't strain yourselves or anything...
I love these. Yeah, I can understand how taking on 3-4 times our numbers (again) against what all reports have shown to be a rather active group of players would be easy. It always is.

Originally by: Derran Huh. I never would have expected MC to take a contract from pirates.
I hear the "M" in "MC" stands for "Mercenary" and the "C" stands for "Cash up front".
Tar, I wish to copyright this phrase. Let's talk numbers.
As for working for pirates... umm... okay? Regardless, who ever said that MC wore white hats? We're mercs and all evil n' stuff. Loxy eats babies and, oh yeah, Shaelin just rose from the dead!
Originally by: Liisa Are you operating with a NBSI policy?
That would be kind of hard in Empire space. We will be shooting anything blinking red or anything our client deems as a navigational hazard. No, we will not be tanking sentry guns and posting "Come explore Low Sec!" invites to noobs in Rens or anything of that nature.
Originally by: Hellspawn01 We just feel left out in this announcement, thats all
TPC is not part of this announcement, but we'll be seeing you as well. Maybe you can come find us?? Wow, that would be a cool change of pace!
Originally by: Futher Bezluden Velsh... Hats off for the ultimate whine about anti-pirates. You hired MC to fight off the carebears of molden so you can pirate easier and not suffer heavy losses.
I haven't talked to Vels about this. Vels is an evil pirate bastard who left MC a long time ago. He didn't fit in and kept talking to his imaginary parrot in alliance chat. You think he could organize a contract?
Originally by: Futher Bezluden MC, I hope you charged them the going rate plus a 50% "Shame Fee" when Velsharoon explained your new targets.
Shame fee? You're ashamed of your alliance? -

Hmmm... how nice. Doesn't really need any cute quips, barbs or cheeky little comments after it.
You sure? Because... I haven't talked to Vels about this. At. All.
I'm still waiting for you to explain the 'shame fee'. MC should be... "ashamed" for declaring war on Namtz'aar k'in? Is there a chart available for this showing scaled costs I could be charging? -

Dude, I thought you were about to say they were going to kick our ass. I'd love to run smack into a ****ed off fifty man blob for the next two weeks. \o/
Also, as Waagaa said, a lot of us remember the days when we'd spend a whole night jumping around, then log off with 15-20 kills for the day and feel like we owned the game. We don't bore easily.
Anyway, how goes the war with the evil pirate hordes? -

No matter what the forces of the darkness bring to our table, we WILL remain free and unaltered in our path. We have stood against many in our goal of making Matari space free for all those that dont cause harm or threats to others. We will stand against you, as proud FREE Matari, and we will still be standing when your contract is over as Proud FREE Matari, even more educated in our lessons to drive the darkness from Matari space.
We will fly for our people, for Matari space, for our pride, and no matter the victories or losses we shall be ever learning, and ever witness that the light shall drive the darkness back into the unknown.
Let our fortitude in these times be a beacon to all who fight the darkness. Let it be shown, No pirate corp will be allowed to bully FREE MATARI around because they wish it to be so.
Let it be known that when pirates must band together and pay mercs to try and remove the beacon of light in Matari space, they must be getting desperate. Who needs merc to clean up some "Carebears" anyway?
Let it be known, Our cause, Our fight, Our People.
Nice speech. Does this mean you're going to kick our asses??? -

Aye, m8, this morning was a lot of fun. Those NOS-phoons are scary.
Too bad the lag won that last fight or else that coulda been a hell of a scrap. I don't think there were even 30 people in local and my FRAPs looks like a damn slide show. Pretty sad TBH. Oh well, we'll try again tonight. o/

Originally by: Futher Bezluden Then there was the 20 v 20 in istodard where half our force was engaged by a force of [^LAG^] upon warping in rendering them stupified and soon either in capsules or in need of Preparation-H.
That fight was just plain silly. Barely 60 in local and eventually 40 at the gate. When you guys warped in, my other FC was already saying it was a slideshow. When I landed with the other half of our fleet, I somehow maintained about 3-5 FPS but I had people dropping and locking up as well. It happened earlier that morning in a smaller fight with barely 15 people in it over in Hedal.
It's sad that the most fearsome opponent in the game is the game itself.
Quote: Mind you, at the time of the 20 v 20, a buddy in Providence was listening to VETO sing to the 100+ locals and experiencing smooth gameplay the whole time.
Let's just all move to 9UY and party there? -

Originally by: The Knight This is a great point and one I agree with completely. I was really looking forward to some of these engagements, but being a part of that 20 on 20 something in Isto was a real eye opening experience. I remember asking on TS, "You guys think they are suffering the same lag as us?" and "I can't see a damn thing, but I think my targets are dying", and "Oh I'm sort of taking some nice damage now!"

I knew when it took 4-5 seconds for me to see any movement on the screen when we jumped in on you guys, my Domi was not going survive, so I just tried like hell to lock primaries and do my part. I got a MC HAC kill and part of of a Raven kill, but oh man...was the lag bad.
I clicked auto-pilot, but the command was never accepted and so I remember asking if anyone could see what happened to my ship.
Boom.
Yeah, I remember you. You were that Domi that was about 50km off the gate jamming everyone while your damn T2 drones ate Karmic's Raven. I think the main reason you didn't get out of there alive was by the time I called you, a lot of the lag had cleared up (at least for me) and pretty much every MC left on the gate (about 14 of us) got a piece of you.

I hate that song. I mean... seriously HATE it. They play that frakkin song at least five times a day on the radio here in Germany (which is one reason why I just listen to Pandora these days). I hope a giant Space Cow lands on your ship and crushes you now. -

We didn't create the current kill board and there are many errors in it. The count of ships lost and destroyed above is not 100% accurate yet due to these problems so quoting them at the moment is misleading. When the contract is actually ended, there will be a proper review.
In terms of the ISK value, as Hans said, it's always been based upon insurance payout. While a fair representation, as it's a universal value for everyone, the next MC kill board will support a variety of more detailed statistics. My personal favorite will be a simple, raw tonnage figure. -
