we all know that most female characters in the game are infact males although a samll number are true females.
but... is there any females out there that have male characters?

That actually depends on how you have your UI setup. Also, when people make the decision they don't know that either. New players generally don't know what they're going to be seeing.

I prefer to believe, rather, that this excuse is just a cover for not wanting to admit the player would simply rather have a feminine ingame persona.

actually it's a source of annoyance to me when i'm playing games with some of my friends as they all insist on playing female characters just so that they can look at them... I find it tremendously sad, I don't make male characters just to look at them

In computer games, I'm about equally split between playing male and female characters. In this case I decided I liked the stats and description of Caldari Civire, but the male models all looked like Mickey Rourke. That made the choice pretty easy.
OTOH, if I'd understood that I could continue developing my character's skills for the next ten years and how big of a deal voice com is, I might have chosen differently. 
Anyway, I hear that Virtual Gender Reassignment surgery may be available in Kali 16.

If I went Minmatar or Amarr I'd choose a male avatar because they look cool. For Gallente and Caldari however, I'd choose female.
Caldari dudes look like they're constipated and the Gallente males just look like dorks.

Girls are freaky, I once nearly got stalked by another player asking for personal details in really weird ways. She even sent photties (but not rude ones).
Moral of the story:
Never give out personal details online
Not everyone is mentally stable

I'm a man. (I even named my female character Alexis Machine, because it's a male in a book..clever yes? name the book, win a prize..) I wear dresses. I like girls. I don't like Angelina, I think she looks like an alien and big lips dont mean better grip, so stop thinking like that. 14 year olds can be hot, but it gets annoying having to drop your lady friend off at a highschool you got kicked out of 8 years earlier. Plus it's uhh.. illegal and stuff.
I know women that play men. Most of them play females though. *shrugs* But the vast majority don't even mention their IRL gender.
Androgyny is way better than aninomity imo. Gender is so 1800's. I say we all get our wangies and poontangies chopped, sewn, clipped, shaved, licked, and melted. Then we can all grow our kids in giant vats. No more bellybuttons! It'll be great! We can all get ****ies implanted on our knees. Rub my knees! OH GOD THE KNEES!!!
Seriously.. does it matter? Will the fact that Erica S is really Eric S change anything? The chick in your corp.. she doesn't want you. She's already married with kids. Man in drag.. girl in a loin cloth.. hermaphro on your face.. it doesn't matter as long as they can perform basic EVE functions. Right?

Damn liberals.
I have a crap memory and i for get which females in my corp are actually female and which are some `dudes alt. I have be reprimanded for certain coments infront of the more respectable mother figigures of corps i've served in for inapropriate language.
Dudes stop playing as women it creeps me out. Especially when you role play type as a women and make dirty jokes as a man on TS/Ventrillo
