REVERT TO THE OLD FONT
I admit there was a problem for some folks because the old font was difficult for them to read.
Instead of fixing the problem by providing a larger size of the existing font that people could read more easily IF THEY CHOSE TO,
You instead replace the great old font, with an ugly, horrendous piece of craapola.
You didn't fix the problem, you simply traded it for a new one.
I don't understand. You spend so much time and effort to make EVE such a BEAUTIFUL game, then you splatter this kindergarten grafitti font all over the beauty.
You have to read the font to do almost EVERYTHING in the game, and it overshadows and pisses on all the hard work you've done to beautify the game.
It's like painting crude glasses and a moustache on the Mona Lisa for crissakes!

I had just resubbed my second account, and was on the verge of resubbing my 3rd industrial alt. Now there's no point. I can't bring myself to stare at the screen enough to do anything industrial. If it isn't fixed, the 2nd account will lapse, and I will probably go to paying for my first account with isk -- if i can stomach the font enough to pvp where it's less intrusive.
REVERT TO THE OLD FONT
Learn your lesson from Ship-Spinning, and now with the fonts, and don't take stuff away that's worked for 8+ years. Provide the option to do something new, but allow us to keep the old. Learn your lessons from the half-assed turret icons, and apply it to the half-assed new font.
REVERT TO THE OLD FONT
Leave the new font as an option for folks that don't like the old one if you want, but don't remove the old font! |

This new font reminds me of Comic Sans :P
On the other hand, maybe in a few days I could sort of get used to it, since it's also different enough from THAT horrible font.
The "plus" side is that you can see what's written more clearly, that I'll give it to them.
But the "minus" side... on top of the obvious "change repulsion" (which MIGHT pass eventually) it has a few things going against it.
For starters, it's noticeably larger (it gobbles up more screen real-estate). I'm playing in 1600x1024 fixed window mode and I feel the font is too large, that I can't fit enough text on screen without noticeably enlarging my windows compared to the sizes I used to use before. It's not the end of the world for me, but I bet if anybody plays in the minimum possible resolutions, THEY would be pretty angry.
Another annoying thing is that the whole font feels as if it would be "hanging", as if it doesn't have a clearly defined horizontal baseline. That I could probably also get used to, but only insofar as tolerating it.
Overall, the new font is not much in the way of an improvement, slightly more bad than good things came with it as far as I'm concerned.
P.S. Couldn't they just have used some standard Windows font, like, say, Arial or Verdana or maybe Helvetica ?

I don't want a revert.
Some people asked for and needed the new font. There is a reason it was changed.
MAKE IT OPTIONAL.
This seriously isn't the time to go alienating subscribers CCP. |

But I prefer another font to both the former and the new. And better yet a list of fonts that I can choose from.

While i disagree with the OP in regards to reverting to the old font, I would have to sasy that more work needs to be done with choosing appropriate font sizing for the context of the individual UI elements. The overview and market information grids are terribad, there is a text wrapping problem with items in containers/hangars/cargohold, and the user has no control except for the context menu sizes.
Personally, I think the context menu size setting should drive the text in many of the other UI elements... |

No, the new font is fine. The font and the scaling just need a little tweaking.
If CCP implements an option to choose the font, I'm okay with that. But please for the love of all that is holy, don't force the horrible old font back on us!  |
