I just got my brand new shiny Ferox few days ago and after running zounds of lvl 2 missions i tried doing third lvl one ang got pummeled. My question is: is missile oriented Ferox a viable ship for lvl3 missions? If so is it possible to build a good fit for those using t1 modules?
my current fit is:
High Slots 5x advanced 'limos' heavy missile bay I 2x i'll put some medium rails here as soon as i get the skills up (that it tomorrow)
Med slots: 1x 10mn afterburner 1x Large Ship Booster 1 2x V-M15 Braced Multispectral Shield Matrix 1x medium f-s9 regolith shield induction
Low Slots: 1x Power Diagnostic System II 1x Ballistic Control System I 1x f85 peripheral damage system i 1x Small Armor Repairer
This is an absolutely n00b fit - i know i should switch to named modules, and drop some modules (like armor repairer), but to be hones i don't have a good idea how to build an effective shield tank geared towards lvl3 missions on ferox, and if it's at all possible. So if anyone could suggest me a god fit - i'd be grateful. Thanks

mines a shyte setup too mate but it allows me the speed/freedom to complete all level 3 missions and loot fast....
High Slots: 5xArbalest Heavies 2xTraccy Beams
Medium Slots: 3x Large Shield Extender Tech 2 1x Shield Recharger 2 1x 10mn Afterburner Tech 2
Low Slots: 2x Shield Power Relays 1x Ballistics Control Unit Tech 2 1x Named Nanofiber(currently DD)
Yes i know its a crap setup but allows me to go over 400m/s with afterburner on and gives me 11000 shield points so i can float in a fight if i have to. Tractor beams allow me to loot fast as hell aswell. I know i will prob get flamed for this setup but it werks and should be tryed.

I like to use heavies for level 3Ęs. I am T2Ęd out but the T1 equivalents work alright. With this set up IĘve got so much shielding frigs can rarely get me below 80% shields. And no level 3 mission gets me below 50% shields. At 75% shields I push my cap to 50%. Then at 50% shields I run the booster to 25% cap. I donĘt like to go below 25% cap, IĘll let the shields drop below 50% to keep cap at 25%. Typically by the time I am cap down the damage dealers are dwindling, and the passive tank begins to gain ground.
I like it because the mega shielding (more than 2X the base sheild of a Raven) gives me a huge margin for error. Even if I were to get in trouble the extra shielding takes sooo long to cut through, I would be long gone before they ever saw my armor.
High 5 T2 heavies or at least Arbies (I shoot normal ammo, just get the rate of fire bonus with the launchers) 1 medium NOS 1 tractor beam
Medium 1 AB 1 Large Shield booster II (this is a must) 3 Large Shield Extender II (you get monster passive tank)
Low 3 Power Diagnostic System IIĘs 1 damage control

Yes, a Tech 1 missile ferox can AFK level 3 missions. There are 2 different standard fittings, active and passive.
PASSIVE: High: 5x heavy launchers 2x whatever :P
mid: 3x Large Shield extender 2x Resistance hardeners - use eveinfo.com to determine what types.
low: 3x Shield power Relay 1x BCU (swap to 2-2 when/if you feel confident of your tank)
I'd suggest a passive tank if you want to live, or an active tank if you want to prepare yourself for being in a raven later.
ACTIVE: High: 5x Heavy launchers 2x Med Nos
Mid: 1x Large Shield Booster 1x Shield boost Amp 1x Med Cap Injector 2x Resistance Hardeners
Low: 1x BCU 3x PDU (you might need to drop the bcu for cpu/grid fitting, depends on skills)

For missions i like cutie's setup but prefer:
5 named heavy missile launchers 2 tractor beams
3 active hardeners 2 large shield extenders
2 shield power relay 2 ballistic control system
I lost a Ferox once doing lv3s and that was because i fell asleep waiting for it to use an acceleration gate.
Use eveinfo.com to find out which hardeners and heavy missiles you should equip for each mission.
