if you lost your ship then good, solo PVP is about picking targets (a lession you have learned now I would hope) the 'phoon has three weapon systems;
missiles - no cap
projectiles - no cap
Drones - no cap
also, 5 heavy, 5 med iirc, so even after you take out 5, he's still got more
all those low slots are just tank (if he's NPCing) and the meds will be rechargers or webs or whatever.
I've found that once I got over 33mill SP the phoon realy becomes a BEAST of a ship!
the only way to take it down is to jam it before he gets a lock and sends his drones in. (unless your just going to outdamage/tank him).

Phoon is a dam hard ship to take down with a Curse , unless u damp him and stay out of his lock range or you jam him alot
Curse can tank 5 med/Light drones no problem the problem is the hvy drones with MWD they dont hit u.
the biggest problem is a dam raven with Jav Torps.................. OWNAGE
but yes its all about pick your targets even though i know i can outrun a domi drones i still will think twice before going for it alone.

It has TD bonuses so use em. If you come up against a phoon, raven or domi then think long and hard whether you want to engage, your ship wasnt designed too well for it.
I never use td's. too situational. there are much better things to use in those 6 mid slots. Sensor damps, ecm or a shield tank all work nicely there. typhoon with 4 missile slots isn't really vulnerable to td's anyway. and a lot ships like domis and raven aren't bothered either. You're right you should have blown up his drones right away. Tweak your setup a bit, choose your targets carefully and have at them. Amarr ships and Gallente gunboats are vulnerable to nos. A curse can easily kill a zealot, deimos or even a arma or mega if you lay it right.

All those curse/pilgrim blasting BSes videos don't show a single PVP battleship. They're just going around roasting NPC hunters "notice all the ravens and thier high cap dependency". A real PVP Battleship should "and probebly will" roast a recon cruiser 1 v 1. The strength in recon's is the simple abilty to track down and destroy a bunch of ratters behind enemy lines. In real PVP they lose.
