I'm afraid the pairings are completely random, and we will not be taking any special requests for timings. The tournament be held between roughly the same hours as last time. Starting around 2-3pm and ending between 9 and 11pm.

I'll ask the web guys about that as soon as I can. For now you can put two names in the sixth entry box, separated by a //.

Alliances that are having problems finding their executors can have one of their CEO's send me a mail in-game with the pilot names.

Seedings are completely random.

We currently have 3 slots left for the alliance tournament. Once we reach 40 alliances, the sign-ups will be closed.
ISK deposits can be sent to me in-game. Remember to include the name of your alliance in the note. The person who sends the ISK will be the one to receive it after the tournament. If deposits have not been sent by November 20th, the alliance has a chance of losing their spot to another. I be contacting the team members of those alliances who have not sent their deposit some time before the 20th.

Technically the tournament is full now, and the groups have already been created. However, I have yet to receive pilots list from a couple of alliances, and if an alliance with priority (top 16 last time) signs up, they will take the spot of the alliance that signed up last.
So at midnight tomorrow when the sgin-ups end, I will post the schedule, brackets and updated rules.

1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th match of the opening day.
Edit: didn't like some of the letters in one of the words I used.
If you look closer, you will see that no alliance is fighting twice on the same day.

This WILL be on Kali right? (IE with the new BS's / BC's and HP boosts) Just asking since December 1st is almost exactly 2 weeks away. Is Kali going to make it in time, and get past all the inital bumps and burps that moving it to Tranquility ussually creates?
Just asking as knowing what Eve version we will be competing on is very important to our strategy and ship setups (or anyone else's for that matter).
I'm cencerely hoping that Kali will be out before the tournament, and right now it seems to be on schedule to be released on the 28th (as far as I know).
If something does come up which delays the release, we will simply have to put up with it and play the first or both weekends in the current version. Kali has been delayed quite a lot, and when the date for the tournament was decided back in August we never really considered this possibility. Hopefully Kali will be released on the 28th though, and we will have a smooth patch day and an enjoyable tournament a few days later.

because we submitted our Team before the deadline(not by much) but still before.
And IRON is not on the pairings list.
As long as all of the alliances pay their deposit before the 20th, yes. Four alliances are queued up to take the place of those who don't pay, if they don't pay.

Originally by: Bane Lord Edited by: Bane Lord on 17/11/2006 04:42:50 What happened to: "A total of 64 alliances will be allowed to enter."?
if there are 4 other alliances in the queue what's wrong with creating a new pairing?
EDIT: I know you really had to jump through hoops to make this thing happen, but why extend the signup period, so that an alliance can get its hopes up only to say "no" to them?
Originally we intended to allow 64 alliances. However, it soon became quite clear we wouldn't reach that number so it was dropped down to 40, just like last time. The extended time was to fill up four open slots we had in the tournament. Filling them up only took a few hours, and after that anybody who signed up was simply too late. This may seem a bit harsh, but having 43 or 44 alliances makes it a lot harder for us to balance it out to a fair tournament, without changing it around completely (swiss rounds would be best here, which increases the total number of matches to an unmanageable number).

What can the 4 queued alliances do to ensure that, should the spaces be, opened up they could participate?
Make sure their members list are sent in, and wait till the 20th.

Are Large 'accomodation' and Quad Lif MWD considered T1 and are they allowed into tournament? Also we can use COSMOS items as far as I've read.
HERE: T2 Battle cruiser ......................................................8 Tier 2 Battle cruiser.................................................8 Tier 1 Battle cruiser.................................................7 T2 Cruiser ................................................................7 Tech 1 Tier 1 Battle cruiser ....................................6
Is not the same Tier 1 Battle Cruiser with Tech 1 Tier 1 Battle Cruiser ? Please explain as we need to know which category brutix is.
Others: - how many sec. you can stay before fight start ? - are you allowed to activate modules and target before engadging in freeze time round? - can you reload ammo before round start? - what happend with cargos after battle ? - ships lost we replace right? - where we should have all ships before starting tournament, is thre a location or GM will move all ships and stuff to a tournament station?
This is first for us so we need to know some details some of you thing minor, so don't come with wise answer, only if you can help.
1. Both of those modules are allowed. 2. The Brutix is a Tier 1 battlecruiser, and costs 7 points. The document has an error in it which will be corrected, along with others, in the updated rules document. 3. When the fight starts, an ECM burst will be fired that will break the lock of all contestants. After its fired you can start fighting. 4. Cargo containers/wrecks will be cleared out of the arena after each battle. Contestants may have time to collect loot, but I wouldn't count on it. 5. You lose the ships you use, and they will not be replaced. 6. Be ready in a station inside the ship you are competing in. Don't forget ammo or drones as you will not be sent back to get them. When your name is called for in the tournament channel (details sent to all contestants next week) your team must respond with your team status. Teams must be ready 30 minutes before their fight is scheduled to start. Late comers may miss their match, which voids the entry fee.

Contestants page was updated.
After the 20th we have allowed no changes to teams, save for one exception. Our EveTV commentator, DJ Condor, could not make it to Iceland due to medical reasons. We quickly found a replacement, Trevedian. Our rules state that no employee or member of CCP or EveTV is allowed to compete in the tournament, and thus we allowed Dalman to take Trevedians spot on the Red Skull team.
Some more issues raised in this (and other) threads:
1) There will be an ECM burst fired at the beginning of every match. This not being a part of the rules PDF is my mistake. Shin Ra is correct that allowing locking before fighting is a subtle hint that people can scan their opponents ships before the match starts. It also gives you a clear indicator when you are able to start locking and when the fight begins.
2) We did take a good hard look at Crystal implants and decided not to change them (now). Like somebody pointed out, changing a module for the sake of the tournament is a bad thing. The issue of allowing them in the tournament was raised at a meeting where representatives from most of the alliances in the top 16 from last time were present. I personally voted to not allow them, but the majority said otherwise.
3) The dates for the tournament were decided in August when Revelations was scheduled for October. We cannot change the dates of the tournament due to EveTV scheduling issues. We have ten people who have flown from the US and UK, and I don't want to keep them here for another week. Also, I know pilots who have set their vacations around the tournament, and we wouldn't want to screw them over.
Also, I would like to raise the issue of disallowing information warfare modules. The last minute change to those was not realized by many teams who may have wanted to change their strategy accordingly. I would like to see arguments for and against before making a decision.

Information Warfare links are no longer allowed in the tournament.
We have sent out mails to all contestants with the in-game channel which you should be present in before joining. If you have not received this mail, please open a convo with me. I will be online all day.

Quote: If two teams are equal in points, the following ranking system will be used: Kill/loss difference Result of match between the two involved alliances. The greatest number of kills.
Group F, with a not unrealistic scenario: IAC beat Xelas Terra Incognita beat Xelas The Red Skull beat MC The Red Skull beat Terra Incognita
result: TRS, IAC and TI will all have 3 wins and 1 loss.
I want the exact rules on how this would be decided cleared up.
"Kill/loss difference" - come on, this needs to be cleared up. First off, some teams field 5 ships, some 4 or 3. Second, we have a match in our group that IAC "won" vs TI - but TI was declared winner cause IAC broke the rules. Now how the heck do you count the kill-loss ratio from that?
*edit* And how about... FIX THE ****ING SECURITY HITS! I lost 0.8 sec status and 2 ppl got kill-rights(!) on me from last fight.
The kill/loss difference works like this:
Alliance A and Alliance B both have 6 points in their bracket, one of them will get second place and the other third.
Alliance A has lost 30 points worth of ships and killed 90 points worth of ships, this gives them a score of 60.
Alliance B has lost 20 points worth of ships and killed 90 points worth of ships, this gives them a score of 70.
Alliance B goes through.

Originally by: dalman Right, fair enough (and bad for us).
Still a bit unclear though...
When not all ship points are used, they're counting as lost/killed, right? So our match vs IAC, we only used 25 points. But it still counts as us losing 30 and IAC killing 30?
And what is the points killed/lost from IAC vs Terra I? If IAC was disqualified in this match... Then this counts as a 30-0 win for Terra I?
The number 30 is just pulled out of thin air, the max number of killed/lost pts for each match is 28.
Unused points count against you as losses and for your enemy as kill points.
I don't have the exact stats for the IAC/Terra fight with me, the commentators have the numbers and we will go through them/verify with recorded footage if we need to.

The rules infraction means a complete loss for IAC, and a 28 point win for Terra Incognita.
The fight should have been stopped the second the container was dropped, and thus the rest of the fight would have been/was irrelevant.
