Who we are
The ISS Navy is the 0.0 based corporate security unit of the Interstellar Starbase Syndicate alliance <ISS>. The unit conducts offensive and defensive PvP operations both reactively in support of the ISS, and proactively against our enemies. We operate a strictly NRDS engagement policy.
Our Alliance
The ISS is a Top-5 alliance of over 2000 members - both a doorway for empire corporations into 0.0, and a driving force in the colonization of deep space. The alliance has built and maintains a number of public outposts in 0.0 space, currently in the regions of Pure Blind, Catch, and Providence. ISS is a civilian alliance and aims to remain neutral in inter-alliance politics.
Our goals
The ISS Navy protects the core assets of the ISS shareholders (the outposts) and the spacelanes leading to them. We actively hunt those who are hostile to our alliance. ISS member corporations are responsible for their own day-to-day security, meaning ISSN can focus on æbigger pictureÆ projects and threats.
Our recruitment
The ISSN is unique in EVE. Currently 180 strong, we have opened recruitment on a selective basis, to further strengthen our capabilities. Our minimum requirements reflect the fact we fight the best PvPers in EVE, and are exclusively 0.0 based. Our benefits are quite simply unrivalled.
Minimum requirements for entry
* Maturity and respect for your fellow pilots - ISSN is a diverse organisation with pilots of different genders, sexualities, and skin colours, all of whom are respected and treated equally. * An understanding of what the ISS is trying to achieve in EVE, and the role of ISSN * Minimum 8m skillpoints, with the majority in relevant PvP skills * Ventrilo and a working microphone * An ability to fly a well equipped fleet Battleship, Interceptor, Interdictor or Covert Ops * A basic understanding of the essentials of PvP
Benefits
* Our unique Financial Assistance Programme which provides - 75% of the cost of most interceptors - Free interdictors - Large subsidies on Covert Ops Cloaks and Recon Ships - Large subsidies on selected battleships * All T1 and a selection of T2 modules - free * All T1 frigates and cruisers - free * Insurance re-imbursement on personal ships lost in PvP * 150 person voice server (Ventrilo) * PvP: Gang, fleet, solo, camping and escort operations * Free docking, repair, and jump clones at all ISS outposts * A long and healthy KOS (kill on sight) list * Active across all time zones * Monthly salaries for pilots in Command roles * Access to some of the best NPCing, Complexes and Mining in EVE, for when you need your ISK
ISSN is unique EVE - a PvP corp with a purpose, and comprehensive support for its members.
To apply, please travel to our outpost in QR-K85 (if you wish to impress us by arriving in one piece), or alternatively you can apply in Agil. Applications submitted in QR-K85 are looked upon more favourably by our recruiters.
Please submit an application with a brief summary of your EVE experience to date and the ships you fly. Be prepared to submit a log-in screenshot, and take part in an informal interview on Ventrilo. Please post any questions you have below, where an ISSN member will answer them for you.
We look forward to welcoming you on board.
Recruitment Contacts: Gaul Cascade, Steamy û EU timezone Tubiger, Antion, Gelvitron - US timezone
After you have applied You may find it useful to add our recruitment officers to your addressbook, and convo them when both you and they are online.
We do not rush our recruitment process, quality is more important than quantity, and like to give you the opportunity to find out more about us during the process. Its important for both of us that you make the right choice about ISSN, and if its the place for you.

Hello, I am considering joing the ISSN.
I would be joining with two accounts (both PvP), one is 33M skillpoints (maxed out EW, flies and owns Chimera carrier, can fly and is about to procure a Phoenix dread, currently training for t2 large hybrids for the Rokh tier 3 Caldari BS). The other is a 15M skillpoint frig specialist (covert ops 5, interceptors 5, currently doing interdictors 5). I am currently a Director in Millennium [MLM]. I am on euro time, and have led and participated in corp and alliance PvP ops since I joined MLM well over one and a half year ago.
I have one major question. As I do have a RL (to varying degrees throughout the week), I am interested to know how you feel about non-powergamers (i.e. people who aren't on every day, all day). Having said that, I have yet to miss any major alliance ops (as long as they are announced, I can make time). So far I have been playing a lot (usually several hours per day), but I now have to adjust to play a lot less. I forsee myself playing mostly on weekends for awhile.
(Also, get TeamSpeak, it's much better than Ventrilo :p)

Hi Chi Prime,
ISSN is a very relaxed organization. We do realize that you can't send all your time in front of a computer and we do not expect you to. RL comes first and we respect that. That said we do have activity measures to make sure that players are active, but based on what you've described above, you should be more then fine.
With regards, Gelvitron

Hi, im a new character, new player, low sps. Now, Im not planning on leaving empire till i can use bships and get most of the needed skills up to lvl 5. My question is, I know this is for the ISS navy, But what about people, wanting to join the ISS and run a POS?
When i started eve, i set my self 2 goals, and they are, run a succsessfull moon mining pos and 2 own a thanatos. Im willing to do wo what ever it takes to acheive those goals.
What are the entrance requirements to become a pos owner/operator in iss, and if they are welcoming pos owners/operators, what benifits and rules requirements and such can i expect.
Im sorry if this is off topic, and i know im along ways away from being able to use a pos, but i wanted to get my questions asked now that way i can put them to use in the future.

I'd also be interested in join ISSN.
I'm a 30mil SP pilot who is spec'ed in rails/blasters, can fly GAL HACs, Commandships, Ceptors, AF's and Recons. Am ready for dread training /w siege mode and v.close to carrier training.
Im on an EU timezone and am online most evenings and weekends (RL comes first ofc).
Would ISSN be interested in me?

Its good to have goals. Please visit http://www.eve-iss.com for more information about our Alliance and our charter. There's a public forum there, and all your POS questions should be answered there by people who probably have similar goals.

I find myself in a very simlar situation to Chi Prime (indeed we both are/were directors in the same corp) who has recently joined the ISSN`s ranks. Would u have a space for a 3 year vet with 36.5 mil sp char with near maxed Leadership and gang skills. Ability to fly command ships, hac, Inties, A Frigs, dictors, logistics ships etc ?
Currently im consolidating assets after a move back to empire from 0.0. Like Chi i view the ISS project as closest to my old corps original vision of 0.0 for all and am keen to get involved.

Edited by: Cerui Tarshiel on 23/09/2006 22:29:56 Got a question or two for you Gelvitron.
I would interested in joining you somewhere in the future, are there any plans for future recruitment?
Secondly do you accept pilots that focus on frigs/destroyers and cruisers (and their tech II versions) but are not interested (and possible can't) fly battleships?

HI Cerui Tarshiel.
We do not have a cut of date for the current recruitment drive. Once the ranks fill up it will be over and we do not have any long term plans to restart recruitment. I'm sure at some point we will but I wouldn't be able to tell you when at this time. I would suggest to apply as soon as possible.
We currently do not require people to be able to fly Battleships. There is plenty to do for smaller ships and even more for people who specialize.

While I know what your gorp is doing and what it is about, this one thing stops me from even trying to join. (* Ventrilo and a working microphone ).
I do have some questions that you might be able to help me with anyways.
1) How do I get good standings with ISS? ( the kind of standings where Im NOT on your KOS list)
2) Who do I talk to be allowed to put a jump clone into one or more of your stations? ( I have sent mails to the person listed at the station Im looking at but have not heard anything back. I have also added the person to my address book and have not see her log on ever)
Thankyou for any help you can give me Kenya.

Kenya,
Since ISS is neutral we do not shoot at anyone who is neutral to us. Although like Butter Dog said, if you look us wrong then you're on your own :) Kidding aside, unless you display hostility to ISSN or any other ISS assets you should not be on any KOS list. Please visit www.eve-iss.com for more information about our alliance and if you have any more questions please visit our public forum.

Teebee,
We are always happy to enlist newer pilots but ISSN has a minimum SP limit of 8mil. That limit was put in place to make sure that people who join our ranks are at least technically proficient in use of tools they will require to defend our assets.
That said we do make exceptions to that rule if a pilot shows initiative and willingness. If you feel like you are up to it and can meaningfully contribute to the organization please get in touch with one of our recruiters.

Im also interesting in joining. I am 17 mil SP, fly a variety of ships, and prefer fleet ops to solo pvp. I was a peon in MLM while Chi Prime and Cadman Weylan were Admirals, although im currently in NKB of UK. I plan to make a proper application shortly. :)
I have a couple of questions:
- Does ISSN or ISS engage in eve role playing, or do you have plenty to do anyway?
- Do you have many players active from the Australian/New Zealand/Asian time zones?

Some pilots enjoy role playing, we have no problem with this but there is always a ton to do in ISSN.
Time zones are all over the place, currently EU time zones are where most members fit in. US time zone needs some work.

From your own FAQ:
"What is a bump? This is deliberate and repetitive posting to ensure that a thread remains at the top of a forum. It is a distant relative of "spamming", which is the repetitive posting of the same text again and again or nonsensical posts that have no substance and are often designed to annoy other forum users. "
How was the person answering the question "deliberately posting to keep the thread at the top"? He was answering a question!

Quote: HI Cerui Tarshiel.
Thank you for clearing that up Gelvitron
However I've decided not to apply at this time. There are several reasons for this, among them are real life things releated both to work and other things that will most likely lead to me having little guaranteed online time for the next two or three months and I want to really commit to the corp I'm applying to. Other reasons are that I want to complete certain training with my character before joining any corp.

Thank you for your consideration Cerui Tarshiel, we would love to hear from you as soon as you get more time to play again. Good luck with the RL stuff ( always tends to pop up when you try to commit to something )
We are still looking for more pilots (old and new, pvp experts and nooblets, everyone). Post your questions here or apply at one of our offices.

Hello,
I have heavy interest into joining ISSN. I am currently worth 15mil in skill points and is particularly suited for flying Gallentean Assault Ships, mainly the Ishkur over the Enyo. Currently attempting to stream-lining towards piloting a Thanatos. I have limited experience in actualy PVP combat, but have gone in gangs running through 0.0 before. I seek to join this group for a sense of order and purpose ... to serve a good cause, and to revitalize my interest in playing this awesome game.
So ... all I need to do is just sent this post as an application in-game ?

Heh, I applied at the station in 0.0 but I pressed enter by accident...
Things I wanted to tell: I have around 9.4m SP and I got lvl 4 bs and I can use t2 torpedos. I like to pvp and make cash by ratting and missions..
At the moment I'm training for a Interceptor and I can fly Assault frigates already. I am experienced with ventrilo.
I can play almost every day at around 1500-1600 evetime till 2000 eve time, on fridays/saturdays I can make it from 1200 eve time till around 2300 eve time. I hope that was enough, thanks!

Could you elaborate on the kind of operations you carry on? With what frequency an op does happen?

Then add a sage feature ffs. Oh, and bump ^^
I'd be interested in joining, but i've only got 1.1m SP currently, over half of which is invested in learning skills... Maybe in some months ^^

Operations types vary. Typically small gang operations against local hostile entities take place 23/7 - pilots are actively encouraged to go have fun with these guys as much as possible. We engage in (thankfully)a few escort operations when required - and they are infrequent I assure you.
Other operations are undertaken as and when required. Depending on our deployment zone we can be on major operations (system lockdown, POS takedown, POS defence etc) every night or once a week. I honestly don't think that any other corp can offer the sheer varience of PvP activity that ISSN can.
Now is a really good time to join ISSN - we have a great bunch of guys/gals in corp and we're up against some of the best known PvP corps in Eve which is not only a challenge but a lot of fun too.

OK - so this means mainly small gangs busting camps and patrolling the pipes, and little fleet action. Sounds good.

Yeah I know there are more efficient ways to transport cargo out and into 0.0 than hauling it :)

Thanks to everyone who is interested and keep your eyes out for a new post coming up soon. Please do not post here anymore.
