I have always wanted to get in a system when i am attacking pirates and have my radar scanner auto target my enemies instead of always clicking on them and picking lock!...anyway how to switch it to auto???

1) options/generic. theres an option for how many targets you want to target BACK.
2) there is an autotargetting system(hislot module)... thats a bit strange, sometimes though it works just like you want it. when it doesnt target clouds and stuff, that is. no joke.

Yeah, the threat detection in EvE's a little spotty. I especially like it when I'm jammed by Guristas, I turn on my FoF heavy missiles, and rather than hitting the fourteen ships that are actively firing at me, the missiles set about dismantling a nearby elevator. Thanks.

Also note that ctrl-clicking on a ship will target it.

thanks for the help...euh interest of the game...yes well i work at a mine and dont get to play the game very much but i am getting into it much more now...oh and thanks for the ctrl+ click tip.

I played for well over a year before knowing of ctrl+click... only reason I found out about it was I was complaining to a friend who had played eve longer than me about how long it takes to lock things. "There should be a quicker way to start locking things, like control clicking them."
He stared at me for a few seconds, trying to figure out if I was being serious, then burst into laughter
