-1 Poorly designed 'tweak'.
CCP time to properly fix carriers and supercarriers instead of gimping assets that have been paid for (in billions of Isis), ages ago.
Start by: Nerfiing the Ishtar. Introducing the new hull for the mega.
Then you can take a look at caps and super caps.
Btw, motherships, yes that's what they are actually called, already go hit so much, less fighters deployed (meaning less fighters to assign, doesn't matter they got a 100% bonus! pop 1 = 2 dead now!), can't deploy normal drones, can't even dock to resupply...
Fozzie I want my beer back from Fanfest a few years ago -_- |

You make the assumption CCP actually listen to us. They don't. Their pathetic response to any difficult problem is just to go and nerf it. I used to think fozzie was different, but in the end hes fallen into the CCP mindtrap of nerf everything
True. Been around since 2003/2004 something like that, on and off. CCP prefers to nerf than fix.
Too bad supercaps are yet again getting hit... for no valid reasons.
Yet it's fine to have AFK cloakers in system, it's fine to have uber ishtars and its completely fine to give interceptors anti-bubble technology but not supercaps like they use to have... (Yeah CCP i owned a supercap during the good times). Now it's a joke... yet you still pay 25 billion isk for a supercarrier and 100 billion isk for a Titan...

Hicksimus wrote:I'm pretty well the only person I see using a carrier to launch fighters and they get nerfed while everybody with a brain is kiting in ishtars for instant win? Cool CCP, good job!
CCP isn't happy we are assigning fighters to people while sticking near a POS bubble. They haven't realized yet, we do that because as soon a carrier or supercarrier enters a fight, it's doomed. Unless you uber blob... but pretty much any uber blob will win unless it meets a bigger uber blob so heh... Watch them stop carriers/supercarriers being able to assign fighters... It's pretty much hinted in bold letters in the OP.
But hey, off-grid booster is A-OK!!! |

How about nerfing the thousands of interceptors, cov ops and ishtars instead of picking on a few supercaps that are trying to survive from the onslaught flying something expensive brings? Meaning everyone wants to kill it and will do almost anything to get that on that KM... |

So instead of, you know, preventing the rapid scooping and relaunching of fighters and fighter bombers by either adding a cooldown to such actions or by tracking drones' cycle time while in the drone bay, you change the scan resolution? I can only see three possibilities here. Laziness, incompetence, or deception. Waiter there's a fly in my soup. "Don't worry, I'll handle this" *swings sledgehammer*

At most these changes just means if you are in an ishtar or anti frig you may have a chance to get away. Skynet is too broken. Waiting till it is used too much like isboxer is a bad move for the health of NS/LS space pvp. Right now we mostly avoid tackling carriers because of how OP the fighters are. Its just a content deterent.
FYI over the last few weeks almost every null roam we have run into skynet. A bunch of cruisers/HACS/BC's should not give a carrier pause for concern. The only thing a carrier should have to worry about is a large 20 + man fleet or other capitals. This nerf is completely stupid. I'm actually shocked to see most people in this thread think this change is a good idea - either none of you are capital pilots or eve is going in a direction that is inconsistent with the reasons why people actually play it.
I have chatted with almost a dozen of the non-troll active members of this thread. Most never flew a carrier/supercarrier. They roam in 6-8 man gang and expect to be able to take down anything. When a carrier shows up and scares them off, they complain. Most of the time it's a 3 man gang, with 2 of them using assigned fighters to defend their sov space.
I took a look at zkillboard, and it confirms it, heck most even admitted in chat to not flying a carrier and are just throwing fuel onto the anti-capital fire. They should all hunt in providence, no caps there :P |

So... people whining about carriers/supercarriers that gimp their tank completely to give the ability to fighters (and assigned) fighters to kill little t2 frigates?
