Il try and keep the rant low on this and stick with the facts.
I have been having severe disconnect problems lately.
I just got my new hac earlier today and decided to go after some war targets because I havnt DC'd in over 2 hours.
I encounter two war targets (both interceptors) I of course engage them and the second I do I CRASH..
I was able to log bad on within about 3 minutes, I come back online to my Eagle with Partial structure and the inty's still attacking me..
I then try to press my shield booster praying it will save me, I click it and nothing happens,
I then realized I had crashed again.
I log back on afterwards and find myself in station.
Im wondering if theres any chance CCP will reimburse me considering my ship was destroyed and I was podkilled When I was OFFLINE...

You could try petition but I'm skeptical that CCP will differentiate logout from crash and undo the remedy the effects of the logoff timer. Until the promises of the recent Dev blog about Dragon's lag problems is fulfilled, I have some Draconian advice: just avoid playing on weekends.

There is always a chance they will reimburse you if their logs show that at the time you crashed the server was experiencing problems. I have had ships replaced before in circumstances such as this so its always worth putting in a petition.

My question to you is: If you were having connection problems, why would you even try to PvP? Especially if you had had some issues as little as 2 hours previous to your PvP outing?
I'm not trying to be mean or anything, just think you should of played it safe before trying to PvP with recent connection issues. And send a petition regardless of what happened, as you will hopefully get reimbursed.

I was able to stay online for oer 1 hour without Dc'ing and was hoping that the D/C issue was over.

Its not about common sense, Its more about the fact that im NOT paying CCP for a game where im forced to sit in the station all day so war targets wont kill me when I lagg out near them.

CCP provides a service. If you don't like their service, go elsewhere. Pretty simple huh?

Well dude, unless you can prove that it's CCP's fault that you constantly crash, you won't see any money. My brother's computer will reboot every 30 minutes or so when playing EVE (and only on EVE), but my computer is fine. Therefore, he only plays on my computer when I'm at work. He doesn't hop into a HAC and go PvP.
You need to sort out your connection issue. In the case of my brother's computer, we've just come to the fact the it simply hates EVE. He deals with it, and doesn't do anything silly when on his computer.
PS- I do believe that there is a different forum for sorting out hardware/software issues.

Surprising though it may seem, it is not CCPs job to fix the internet. I'm sorry if you were under that impression.

What did PingPlotter report?
You can find the serverfarm IP in my bio ingame, all way down. The free tool is all you need for normal/hobby network troubleshooting.
Normally you'll find Level3 being the culprit, outside of the server farm - or one of the connections into the Level3 backbone. --*=*=*--

Some very typical responses here sadly the EVE comunity is pretty much like this, rotten to the core and unwilling to help it's fellow players. There has been a load of server issues as of late even talked about more in depth in the new Dev blog, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your ship I personaly would not pettition it as the pettition system is allready full of thousands and you might never hear back because of that, my advice would be not to fly any very expensive ships until the server problems are sorted out, if it was your connection you would have to contact your ISP for advice and ask if they are having any problems with their network.

1 - It's not our fault, it's yours. 2 - 30 days to recieve the above answer. 3 - Petition is denied.
This is all done by an automated response script... because CCP can use macros, you can't.

One of the biggest problems I've found with crashing, is Eve sounds.
If you are playing with the sound on, I would suggest turning it off.
As everyone else has stated though, the problem is probably on your end, and thus not CCPs responsiblity.

Well, I think you guys are being a little cynical. I have recently had 2 ships replace (it did take over 3 weeks to get them returned) and my wife recently had her ship replaced also from lag. I think documenting the circumstance, take inventory of everything going on for instance; let them know how many people in the system, also tell them how many jumps in the last hour, how many on the server ect, anything that helps you document lag issues and keep the petition concise and professional.
Good luck hope you get your hac back.

Remember you can actually get a warning for wasting GM's time.
Problems on your end is not CCP's responsibility, there's no good reason to feed the petition queue monster, it will only make those people who genuinely lost their ship to a bug wait even longer.
Soak up the loss, you weren't flying something you couldn't afford to lose in the first place where you? And go do something about your internet connection.

While it is common sense not to attempt it if you cant EASILY afford the loss...
He DOES have a point about this.. why pay for an online service when you cant actually use it due to an issue of the service providers end? ____________________ MOGarmy

I know it's typical internet tough guy to burn someone when they complain and say "Dude it's your computer or ISP not the game". You know what though, pretty much most of the time I find it's the opposite.
The vast majority of users are on rock solid cable or DSL connections these days. You know how many outages I've had in like 7 years of my current ISP? I can remember two, both of a couple of hours. Chances are if you're trying to reach a website or play a game and the connectivity sucks well, more often than not these days it's because well ... that site or game has problems. It's not just EVE, its any online game or MMO where some buttockbeanie in CS/the forums tries to tell you its your fault. This isn't 1995 when "Your ISP sucks" was a reasonable answer.
I bet this guy can log off and go play 10 hours straight of CS or some other online game just fine. If 20% of your playerbase are having disconnect problems is that acceptable because 80% are not? Sure he was crazy reckless for flying a ship when his last DC was 1 or two hours ago but he has a valid point even if he shares in the blame after a fashion.
99% of the people complaining love EVE/understand the problems/don't want to leave/don't mind dying if they are in control of their ship/want to play/etc, they just feel frustrated and acting like a tard towards them when they come here to blow off some steam and just feel better that they've vented makes you look like a clown.

What were you doing in the two hours or so since your last crash? If I were you and having disconnect problems I would first try some PVE or something to make sure that the system is working well before going into PVP. Only after putting some strain on the client and seeing that it's ok would I even consider PVP.
In all seriosness, given how expensive HAC's are I wouldn't have taken to PVP until I had gone days with no problems, not hours.

For the last couple of weeks there have been serious problems into and all over the Level3 backbone - in addition to the problems with the serverfarm.
The serverfarm is connected only to the Level3 backbone, even when there was a lot of talk about multihoming as one of the reasons for the change from Simin to Level3.
And as icing on the cake a couple of (local) ISP had minor problems too, some of them lasting for weeks. --*=*=*--

Unlucky mate. Eve is a hard game to get stable and seems to suffer more from crashing than most other games.
Hardware - get the most stable drivers for your hardware. Run chkdsk on your hard disk. Run Memtest86 on your RAM (need a floppy, which is unreadable in windows but its on there). Run Prime95 to test your cpu/ram for stability. Run 3dMark03/04/05 any of them, to test your cpu/ram/graphics.
Next, your network. wireless networks are notoriously dodgy. Seriously bad. I reckon many of my lost connections are down to this. I've been through a few wireless routers and none seem to be stable when they get warm. Try using cables if you're using wireless, just to see.
Reinstall Eve helps sometimes.
Reinstall windows carefully might help as a last resort, but this is an awful thing to do since there is no easy way to just reinstall the OS and restore your applications. Reinstalling apps can take several days.
You have my sympathy.

why choke the boards to put this **** on here? because you need a pointless rant? you know the procedure, and quite frankly, i couldnt care less about you losing a hundred ships. tell us if you lose 100k in the stock market and become suicidal, tell us if your wife leaves you because you played too much eve and neglected your kids, tell us you killed your cat for walking over the keyboard during fleet ops, anything but this tripe.
petition the incident, detail time disconnected and a short statement of what happened, do not add your own personal observations, short and to the point, if ccp needs more information they will ask.
