I've got enough money to buy and insure a new ship, and I was thinking either a Ferox or a Crow. They're both about the same price and i can buy both within 2 jumps of my home station. While a Ferox would be the logical step up from my Crusier, I like the concept of the Interceptor ( i like to go fast :p) and started looking into it. I can use the BC right now, but the ceptor will take about 10 days of training. I do have a few questions:
-I am however a bit confused on the point of the Interceptor: its a bit faster then fast HACs and can optimaly lower is sig radius by 9, however i dont quite see why this means it costs as much as a Ferox (22.5 mil). Maybe someone could give a better explaination of the Interceptor and why its worth that much?
-Next patch supposidly has new BCs. Is it worth waiting for them?
So what should i do?

If you like ratting/mission running,ferox.
If you like gang pvp go either.
If you like solo pvp,go ferox(although you can solo in an inty you need good skills)
But the point of an interceptor is to make sure there is no way in hell your enemy will warp or move very quickly and also to pop his pod afterwords.

Yeh interceptors are pretty much just for catching ppl in PvP. And crows are especially good at it because then can run a MWD (4km/s) plus a 20km (Out of web range) scrambler forever.
For what you want, id go ferox. Ive got 27 Million SP and i still fly a ferox, i love em.
Cheap as chips and a nasty tank. Currently flyin around with 8k shields, and i dont remember the exact resists but they're all about 70%. Also fit a webber / scrammer.
For pure PvE you can get a very nice setup with 70% plus resistances and 14k shields, not bad for 50 mills (ship plus setup)

Get the Ferox, and go missioning for a week or so. You'll get your money back in no time

Ferox is ideal for running level 3 missions and for providing anti-frig / cruiser support on L4's or in a complex (whilst it can tank acceptably on L4 missions it doesn't really have the DPS to do them efficiently).
Ferox is pretty good in a PvP gang. Don't forget you can fit a warfare link mod (assuming you have the skill) It's pretty useful at med to long range. Not great for close in fighting as it steers like a cow and moves even slower, so if you like speed the ferox will have you chewing your keyboard in frustration.
Ferox isn't so good at solo PvP except in sneaky sniper mode (with T2 rails). It's too slow to catch anything it can kill (even with a 20km warp scram, won't be long before the other guy is out of range)... conversely, you're an easy mark. (I'm sure that there will be folks out there who leap to it's defense but truth is if you want a battlecruiser that is good at short range there are better alternatives).
Crow is great in a gang of any size - it's the most popular inty (hence the somewhat inflated pricetag) because as it mounts missiles / rockets you don't have to worry about transversal as you run rings around the other guy. It can be used solo, but get some practice in gangs first. They're lethal in the right hands though and frustrating as hell for bigger ships to deal with.
Don't worry about the new BC's - if you're trained up to use a Ferox you'll be able to jump right into one of the new ones (Ferox needs BC-3, the new one needs BC-2). You can easily make back the cost of a fitted Ferox in a week running level 3 missions.

Don't forget that if you insure a Ferox (platinum), you'll get ~24m isk back if it goes pop. If you insure your Crow (platinum), you'll get ~3m isk back if it goes pop.
You can make decent money running L3 missions. You can eventually run L4 missions when you make enough isk running L3 missions to buy a Raven and make even more isk.

Yes Ferox is good in general, when running level 3 missions. But even if you can fly a BS, max out your skills. Get your ferox outfitted with tier 2 equitment (shield hardeners, extenders i.e.) and it will be a good tanker.
Ferox is worth the 20mil it costs.

Ferox is by far the more versatile ship.

You will be a happy camper with your new Ferox! Also For Fun, when you get the skills going, try fitting a Crusie Missile Launcher on it (you will only be able to fit 1) and fill the lows with BCU and the mids with Sensor Boosters and a Target painter or two. Sit back and LOL on some PVE missions, just make sure to bring a friend when they get closer. It's not very effective on Firgates but still so much fut.
P.S. this is not ment to be a serious way to fly the Ferox EVER, just for some fun!

The Drake (Tier 2 BC for Caldari) looks hot, get a Ferox for now but wait and see what happens with Kali within the next month or two .
