Anyone watch the new series on Sci-fi? I am looking forward to the next season, that was a long wait, and a totally bizarrre ending. I was kind of annoyed at the ending and the episodes started to get a little weak before that as well. Hopefully it will bounce back as the first season and first half of the second season were incredible.

Yeah the one on the sci-fi channel with Edward James Olmos. This will be its third season, so it's not really "new", but it is newer than the 1970's show it was based on.

I really like the ending of the second season, but my favourite episode before that was the one on Caprica following Sharon and Caprica 6. What the hell is going on with Caprica 6? she's clearly a mental lunatic and what does that mean for Doctor Balthar as well now? I really don't know what's going on in their heads, but i can't wait to find out.
I'm not gonna go into too much detail on it cause i haven't put a spoiler warning on this post and some people haven't seen laying down your burdens and the preceding episodes.
Can't wait for season 3 though.

The best sci fi series since B5 and probably one of the best TV series I've seen period. \o/
Episodes 214 and 216 are probably some of the worst sci fi I've seen though =P

No other show could have an episode end with everyone celebrating and Baltar spinning around in his chair, grinning goofily and staring off into space.
I am greatly saddened by the fact that it shall never be surpassed as the most brilliant moment of television, ever.

My theory about Caprica 6 is that somebody is trying to manipulate humans and cylons to their own ends. The exact method is unknown but it would also explain Baltar.
What their ends are... heck, I could think up a fair number of sci-fi cliches which would fit the bill, probably something else.

Man, I tried to get into this one. I really did. Several times even.
Just doesn't capture the feel of the original, though. And for me personally, it just seems like 'Soap Opera In Space.'
Flame if you must, I really tried to like it. Wanted to desperately since I grew up with the original BSG. But oh man, this one just hurts me to watch. ------------------------------------------------ This sig is mine. There are others like it, but this one is mine alone. No way!
Not if you were there for it when it was new and grew up with it.

Its brilliant
i agree with the end of the second season after the pegasus some of the episodes lost their thrill but were still above average. I like the cliff hangar ending. ________________________________________ RISE alliance Tek inc |

I grew up with the orignal BSG.
There was less cheese in Wisconsin.

I liked the original series too, but it was a bit on the cheesy side you have to admit. The original show was much more 'classic' sci fi though - laser guns and robots and Boy's Own adventures. But the new version stands up as solid drama before you even get to the spaceships and robots. It's the first time for ages I find myself watching and having no idea where the stories are leading, which is pretty rare I think on tv.
Good to hear season 3's going now too, just finished watching season 2 last week and can't wait to see what happens next.
Oh, and Caprica 6? I'm going for something to do with the nuclear shockwave interfering with her conciousness transference - they're not mad but sharing each others' conciousness in a kind of 'Stranger in a Strange Land' thou art God type thing. Well, that's my theory anyway

Doctor Baltar pfft, I hope he dies this season, not to spoil anything for anyone but you'll see what he eventually does in the end.
Looking forward to this season, big fan of BSG

the US started it, sorry we ran out of 3rd world countrys to invade and set up puppet governments in, so we umm you know screwed with the AI of Cylons and made them invade, we're just waiting for the right time to move in and take over everything, claiming 'weapons of mass destruction'

I don't think they are following the original storyline that much.

Never! The reincarnation of The Great Shrubby Jr. would NEVER claim weapons of mass destruction if he is really just interested Saving the Universe from tyrannical dictators!!!
