Flying in to an east coast airport from abroad has anyone experienced chaos? Like long delays getting into the country or anything of that nature?

I went to Florida 2 years ago and I didnt quite experience chaos. Probably not what you are looking for but however I went through 3 security checks before going through to take my luggage and after taking the luggage there was a full scanning on the way out.

Yeah, usually if you look at all foreign you'll be subjected to multiple checks.

When I flew out of Boston a little less than a month ago there wasn't much hassle at all. I can't imagine getting in taking more time than usual. All they did was put MPs everywhere.

I live in NYC, and have been to JFK and LGA both in the last couple of months.
Nothing out of the ordinary really. Just have to allow a bit more time for security checkpoints, as they're more thorough than they were years ago.
But it's not the all-encompassing lockdown that the media probably wants you to think it is.
Just bring your patience. (Hell, baggage claim is still probably the biggest holdup, even over security. Some things never change.)

I fly the Dallas/Ft.Worth to Atlanta to Albany route a few times each year, its tolerable with only about a 15 minute wait for security as long as you're flying domestically. Not sure if you can take liquids or drinks on the plane atm however, last time I travelled was right before the time of that planned trans-Atlantic attack, so I'm not sure about that atm though.
There goes my traditional pre-flight smoothie at Dallas  , blah.

Thats actually the minimum number of checkpoints, as I recall from traveling from Kentucky to France in late July and back just after the liquids scare thingy. The US-VISIT lines were rather slow, compared to the US citizens lines anyways (don't need to take our fingerprints, FBI/NSA already has 'em  )

Flew to Oregon and back from Texas and it wasn't that bad about about 4 weeks ago. It was annoying not being able to carry liquids on the plane but as far as delays go, it was the same as usual. It's not as crazy as a lot of people suspect it to be.

The airports around Washington, D.C. (Dulles and National) are bedlam on the best of days anyway, so if you're flying into DC at any time, always expect at least some delays, especially traffic getting out of the airport proper.

flying into Philly was fine but there were boards all over saying what you cant take and bring in.. it even said snails.. So when I came through to the otherside I said I had a bag full of snails, luckly the customs guy enjoyed the joke
