in my 11 months of playing i haven't seen that once... DT being 12 minutes that is!
i've seen it just get restarted, but didnt want to exagerate. and anyway more often than not it barely lasts 30minutes.

That wasn't the case yestaday, or today, or for the next 2 weeks apparently.

tbh, just a little section on the website with a server status, and perhaps a little one line comment saying something like "maintenance taking longer than expected" would placate the masses, wheras silence and no way to know for certain if the server is working just infuriates people. it's a sad state of affairs, but with a small company like CCP, i can see why they are swamped - i've worked in customer relations for an MMO, and i know how much flak they take as soon as there's a problem, but this lack of communication only serves to alienate the customers further - we're not asking for a personal and handwritten response to every little thing, but one line of text, maybe 5 minuites out of someone's time is all it would take to stop these threads from appearing.

Think of from the dev's point of view. i'm sure for each minute after 12:00 more and more pressure mounts to complete the set tasks as they know THOUSANDS of paying customers are waiting to log on.
I'm sure they're more stressed about DT running late than you are.

Unless there is an official staus thread or some kind of status page that informs people what is going on then the forum is gonna get filled with threads like this, don't blame the people posting, we just want to play a game we have payed for.
But other than lag and extended downtime Eve is the best MMORPG Ever. :D

I dont think people are whining about the fact that there is a dt, or that this st got extendeed. CCP is trying to fix things and that rocks. We just want to know what going on.

From the Devs point of view?
I go to work as well and have deadlines also it is called the real world. In my job it would be the same but rather than a bit of whinging on the forum we would get 10000s of phonecalls and Emails. They have it easy.
They could atleast change the message that says "odds are it is your Internet Connection". I mean WTF my Internet isn't down half as much as this server.

This DT reminds me of EQ1, which I still play. It's like a new expansion release and you can expect many many many wonderful nights waiting for the server to come back up, which it will, eventually, but WAY to late to be of any use to alot of us who have DT in our prime play time. Fun fun fun. Yes I'm *****ing, I can cause I can :) No I don't care if you don't care, cause I can :)
Thanks to those who post to complain about people posting to complain, you guys are great to skim past, and laugh at and so forth :)
OMG OMG 7mins 40sec to first startup atempt, One of many no doubt, I have to go prepare :)

To be fair, they usually do that, the server used to come up at 11:30-11:45. Only the recent problems with TQ seem to have changed that.
But, they could put up some Flash mini-games on eve-o for the addicts ;-P (space invaders anyone?).
