ok ive been messing about with a few frigates to see how fast i could go, without using a microwarp drive. Currently i can fly my executioner at 1295ms, this is with a cold arcjet thruster and 2 named overdrives.
can anyone beat this? and if so how?

Think you can get 11,000km/s+ with a gistii fitted stiletto and HG Snakes.
Could be wrong though, Crusader might actually be faster?
Tech I frigates, can prolly get around 6-7km/s with a very expensive fit and HG Snake implants. Again could be wrong though, these numbers are educated guesses.
edit: Guy above sounds like he knows what hes talking about.

With maxed nav skills and a combat fitting, a crusader goes around 4.8km/s IIRC, gang bonuses not taken into account ofc! ___________________________________________

crusader is faster then a claw when using mwd/ab cuz of the mass difference

For travelling purposes, I'd always rate the nanofibre's over overdrives - I prefer the extra agility for warp alignments. On the 15km travel to the gate, you're unlikely to actually reach max velocity anyway.
My personal 'shuttle' is a Crusader with Gistii MWD and local hull nanofibres.

Yeah. Claw has better base speed but higher mass, so without propulsion mod on both ships the claw is the fastest.

More on this please... I'd like an alternative to a shuttle, i.e. a frig that goes faster without using either AB or MWD for speedy afk jumping. Any suggestions?

While crusader has the speed record, that speed is totally useless since you wont hit anything with lasers at those speeds. If you aim to go fast and still do dmg, crow is the ship you are looking for, its one of the 3 fastest ships, has the most missile slots of all and can do rocket DPS at light missile range..
Yeah and crow is long due for a nerf, or boost small turret tracking by a factor of 1000x, that'd be fine too

Try using an interceptor (or the T1 equivalent if possible) with a cruiser AB. I think my claw goes like 1500m/s with one nano. Should be a nice increase with all nanos, faction AB, etc. _____________________

Oversized speedmods dont have enough acceleration (cause the ship base agility cant handle the added mass) and dont justify the PG investment.
You can try fitting a 100mn MWD on a BC and see you're better off with a 10mn MWD cause of the agility/acceleration issue.

Well, your first problem is you are using a named afterburner, not Micro Warp Drive. My Executioner with an MWD as the only speed mod gets me a bit over 3km/sec. For travel purposes, I also fitted a small cap battery to help the warp range. I have done a similar fitting with a Slasher.
I think the fastest T1 market frigate is the Slasher on base speed, though the Executioner can outrun it with one more nano or overdrive in the low slots than the Slasher. If you count faction frigates, the Firetail is the fastest if you have good skills. ----------------------------------------------- Mercenary minded - I'll fly whatever works best. |

I am working on this now. As far as I know you need...
Fast T1 or T2 frig with high base speed and lots of low slots + Named/Faction Nanofibres or Named/Faction Overdrives (Domination) + Named/T2/Faction AB or MWD (Gistii A-Type) Max skills (Navigation, Acceleration control, Spaceship Command, Evasive, etc) + Hardwire implants (slots 6 - 10, the 'Rogue' series) + Pirate implants (high grade or low grade snakes, very expensive) + Be in a gang with a battlecruiser equipped with a skirmish command module

minmatar are the speed (and small signature) race that said; let's see, what the claw can do
- 635 base speed - including 4 domi overdrives - 5404,715909 with acc.control V, Gistii A MWD - 1817,543182 with acc.control V, Gistii A AB - AB/MWequation
possible "global" boni: - Navigation V (*1.25) - Michi's implant in slot 7 iirc (*1.08) - Snake set (*1.5363, info, slot 10 used: no MWD imp)
-> 3769,593647 m/s with AB -> 11209,40782 m/s with MWD
however, since every game needs some group to ridicule, minmatar don't even win in their own department: thx to the weight calcs, the 1050ton-crusader is on top: 3804,114882 & 11474,47448
aaaand... since weight is so important for speed boosting, competitors went for weird things like officer 100mn MWDs on cruisers
what did i miss....?
p.s.: the slower inties go 13.5 AU/s
