From patch notes: Structures & Deployables:
Mobile Tractor Units and Mobile Depots now have a loot all option.
Now pleaaaaase add a button which scoops the MTU in cargohold and empties its contents into it as well. |

You already got the loot all button. So no, that's part of the fun with using an mtu |

Another fine thread that simply points out one simple fact. The more CCP gives into the lazy players, the lazier the players become.
EvE is hard. It's harder if you're stupid.

More automation for in-space activities is bad. If you really cannot handle the fact that you need to interact with an object to scoop, I suggest you buy a PLEX, cash it and forget missioning for a day. |

lol so much this. people thinking that having more unnecessary clicks somehow makes the game deeper and harder. why dont you make it a real thing and not use loot all, ctrl-a, or ctrl/shift multiple-select and drag every individual item from one place to another manually? I bet that would add a lot to your game experience. |

One thing that would be very useful would be if we could have a version that also salvages :) Maybe as a T2 so it has to be invented? |

And what about when the MTU plus loot haul won't all fit?
It's better to take the nice deadspace stuff and leave the MTU behind to collect later if necessary. How would this new mechanism handle that? |

It would be the same as when even just the loot doesnt fit in your cargo hold. However it selects the priority of putting loot items into cargo hold, it can keep it - I am fine with that. MTU shouldnt decide for you what you want to take and what you want to leave behind. |

But then the loot could all be junk and the MTU more valuable. It's really not hard to select loot all and then scoop the MTU and you at least have the choice of what loot to take and not to take. I prefer it as is thanks :) |

This.
I'd have rather the MTU never been invented. It puts people who actually play the game, manually, at an economic disadvantage. I think the MTU should be a sort of mobile tractor-beam battery that you deploy, take control of, and operate manually. And then if CCP goes that route, it should have multiple beams with super long range and speed.
Deploy in space, right-click "Control", your center-of-view switches to the MTU, and your ships module buttons are replaced by the MTU's tractor beam (and salvager!) buttons. And have a big obvious button to quickly switch back to your ship. |

Yeah that would be awesome. Let's call it Mobile Turret Unit. It even runs havens and sanctums for you, ganks everyone in the system, prevent TCUs, cynos and a clonebay vat.
Of course it should also allows all ships of the owner to dock, refit and jumpdrive into any system in EVE.
Special features would be:
- cannot be seen on d-scan - cannot be probed down - has 300 billion ehp - has system wide cloak for all owner ships - only one can be deployed per sit - launches 10.000 fighters - can doomsday withing 20AU - AOE damage for everyone but the owner
Wait, that wasn't the very bad idea thread, was it?
