TQ has been having a rough time of it lately. Nodes have died in increasing numbers, the server has had a number of unscheduled reboots or extended downtimes, and playability has been impacted for a number of community members.
Sharkbait has a new Dev Blog with information on the ills ailing TQ, who is working on it and what is being done to fix it.
His new item also gives an update for those that want their info in smaller chunks.

Originally by: DirtyHarry Hope its resolved quickly, the GM's must be getting mighty ****ed with the amount of petitions that are probably flying in each day.
basically each node deaths is generating alot of petitions. this is 1 of the reasons for the long petition queue, which i will add the GM's are being blamed for and it's basically not there fault.
it's not just annoying the GM's, it's annoying us and you people. so we want rid of the disease thats effecting our beloved TQ.

Mike and Papasmurf are 2 different people. Mike doesn't use irc and doesn't play eve, so he doesn't really have a nickname

But really, you're giving us info on what's broken and that's more than what most places would do, so you get a in my book!

That's the sound of this conversation going over my head. :) I understnad what nodes are, but what does "TQ" mean? Tranquility?

Originally by: Bazman I saw Sharkbait in H-ADOC today, docked in the 4-1 station. I said hello but got ignored :( Obviously he must have been busy chatting up the strippers and getting trashed on Mindflood instead of fixing TQ :P
sry i wasn't being rude. i was helping out with petitions and wasn't really looking at the chat windows

ok. pokebelly added a fix onto TQ that made the code handle the Ram better on the nodes. this has helped so much it's unreal. the nodes are lot more stable since this fix got in and they do not seem to be using as much Ram.
on another note there was alot of people here at ccp doing petitions yesterday. the goal was to get the queue down to 200 petitions, i just checked and the queue is at abot 800+. so it was a good day for us and more importantly for you.
with the server stability fixes that have gone in, the petition queue will stay really low hopefully and petitions will get answered asap. so everyone is a happy chappy now, except those of us that went out and got blind drink last night and lost the ability to walk in a straight line and now feel like utter crap this morning.

Just some idle curiosity here. When you log in to to Dev/GM kind of stuff, are you just in an EVE client with extra features? You can dock and undock, fly around, engage in combat, et cetera?
hmm. there is another client i use, it is the decompiled client with some other tools etc. i can't really go into it tbh.

bit more news.
we thought that space was fully of crap so valar decided to have a clean around the place. at DT today he moved 650k drones and 142k ships to peoples hangers from space. this hopefully will reduce the ram being used on the nodes quite alot.
