I get paid to play, errrr, umm nevermind.  
I believe the billing system is set-up to accept dollars as the default currency, unless you live in a EU contry.

On a side note i live in the UK and get billed in USD for my sub but thats because we don't deal with that Euro thingy we have the mighty GBP :)

Just wanna see if its a time thing, maybe they were billing in USD up to a point then they billed in Euro's or vice-versa

Now that sounds like a plan, as for billing i have a 1yr old account and a 2yr old account, the older one used paypal until it broke so i was billed in USD iirc and the newer account was billed the same until it broke but now they bill me in USD if i want to pay using my debit card.
