Any RA, RA friends, Coalition pilots, Coalition friends et al. remember the complete abortion of a day that was the last big fight (with dreads and carriers) in c-j6?
Would any of you agree that to say there were no problems that day would be tantamount to saying "Hi; I'm an utterly insane craq addict and my father was the Emperor Caligula"?
Because according to CCP:
"..our logs show no problems on the server at that moment on time."
THEN YOUR LOGS WERE MADE BY MR. MAGOO!

I take it from that that you weren't there and therefore have no idea how radically around 400 or so people's experience of that day differs from CCP's assertion, or rather that of their logs, that there were no problems.
My post implies that development of better monitoring programs would be a good idea.
Yours, on the other hand, implies that you may be a cretin.
Thankyou for your input.

i think what Tob is saying is that if you use the proper frikin channels you might get soemwhere, and if you dont, then you alone decide wether to leave the game.
but to come here to the boards and whine like a girl doesnt exactly make you a hero in anyones eyes.
lots of people have some totally scrwed up problems in eve, but you dont see them coming to the boards crying.
**** happens, the internet is finiky, lag is finiky deal with it.
man you should have seen the DAYS UO was down at the start, with all the people frozen to the ground due to stamina bug, you guys wouldnt have lasted a day if you had to deal with that .

Listen mate, my post was mostly directed at the post above the one I made.
However, there are tons and tons of complaints about reimbursement
petitions already.
Fact is CCP goes by what evidence they have. Sort of like a court judges a
case based on what information they have.
I am not saying that there was no lag. But that those who cry about it
(like the guy who posted above my post) aren't doing anything worthwhile to
help any case they might have.
Petition again, file a bug report, go through official channels.
:P

Are you kidding me? I used to run missions in OURSALERT before they got the new Yarrdware. That was insane. 2-10 second mod lag running level 1 missions in my Tristan.

Could you describe what kind of lag it was? Was it module activation lag (you turn on something but even though you have goof FPS the module doesn't activate), or screen freeze, or some other problem? Massive disconnects maybe?
Module activation lag and disconects could be CCP's fault (or a number of other problems they have no control over).
Frozen screens, however, are an indication that your PC can't handle rendering hundreds of ships while running TS and a couple browser windows, or whatever way you choose to play Eve.

TBH that whole pettition system is not neccesary... YOu either get a respond that theirs logs show no problems (lol I even had such respond despite the fact that on main page of eve-o there was info about server problems on the day I wrote petition) either they ask you to delete cache folder. I have only to say: LOL!!!
Spike out __________________________ Our logs does not show any evidence of server problems. please check your computer for viruses and spyware; also double check your ISP connecting speed. |

Logging is requiring CPU and harddisc bandwidth... Both is rare on the cluster.
Running to higher number of players, everything is cut which is consuming ressources. Because the problems are not solved, so we can expect some more nerfs. ---

I've been beginning to think lately that it's possible that CCP's logging system is actually lagging too. For example if it works like "poll the node every 30 seconds, wait 2 minutes for return packet, if packet shows lag -> ohnoes, flag it" all it would need for the system to not work would be 2 minute and one second lag
I doubt the system is that simple though.

What's even more amazing is a few weeks ago we took a fleet up to tenal to ***** an outpost egg. The lag was horendous and CCP sent that message out saying there was loads of lag from people copying bms etc. We tried to fight but most of our fleet was killed by invisible enemies. Petitions were sent. Some were granted but others who died within the same space of time were told that their logs didn't show anything... go figure....

Massive module activation lag, clients frozen for ages on end, disconnects, ppl logging off in pos's with no agression timer to find on logging back on that they were dead, ppl being shot by people 16 au away, etc etc.
Just to be clear, I have no petitions pending nor have I for a long time. It's just that since the petition queue has started to be cleared many friends have told me "omg look they gave me x back when it was my fault and I only petitioned for a laugh" while several other friends who lost ships in c-j6 on that fateful day to the most ridiculous bugs and server probs, (one of whom has several screenshots showing him being killed from 16 au away) have been told "our logs show no problems on the server at that time".
Personally I just find it astounding that ccp's logs can provide "evidence" as to why one person should get his stuff back when in his own words the loss was his own fault; whereas they detect no problems when everything goes totally ****-up in a way that several hundred people can attest to.
