Which alliance is the best if people want to role play as being real Space Ship pilots, with ranks etc, such as cadet, and having to address the fleet commanders as Admiral, etc?
I keep watching videos of how fleets are lead and it is horrible. People use foul language on fleets, don't know what is going on half the time and you got people of no importance that keep jumping into the mic asking ridiculous questions.
For example:
Some fleet member wants to ask a question:
Scout: "Admiral, permission to report, sir?" Admiral:"Go ahead" Scout: "Admiral, forward marine force recon scout reporting twelve war targets in the system, request new orders, sir" Admiral: "Roger, proceed to next system and report" Scout: "Sir, aye aye, sir"
The above was just an example of typical day to day US Navy/Marines comm talk, but is there an alliance that applies this? |

I seriously hope not or I would laugh at them 24/7. Too busy "roleplaying" to be good at the game so would still lead to s*** fleets. |

If there really is a serious RP group out there who does that, they would probably reject you for your name as well as illegal and excessive body modification...

A scout reporting to an admiral. That's rich. Then, asking for "new orders...sir." Hilarious. What navy was this, your "imaginary navy"? Need I say, admirals don't talk to the hired help?
Oh, yes. Your question. It's difficult to believe an EVE player would seriously ask about role playing.
Treason never prospers. What is the reason?
Why, if it prospers, none dare call it "treason."

There's numerous serious RP alliances out there, just take a look around IGS forum, easy to spot.
Many are involved in Faction Wars, kinda understandably.
Even though I'm a heavy RP'er I've never been in a roleplay corp, but from those I speak to who're involved in the larger pvp-orientated ones nobody's like that on comms. It's pretty standard fleet comms and even most RP corps have their designated areas/channels within the corp for the RP aspect.
Might be some more extreme RP corps/alliances out there, but I haven't come across them yet.

Besides that, never understood people who try to roleplay "good guys" and "naval officers", when generally roleplaying cares about lore and if lore is to believed even capusleers "aligned" with the empires are selfish psychopathic whackjobs with access to apocalyptic levels of money and weaponry
*edit* (who's bright idea was it to create capsuleers again? Jovians, you say? Theyre almost extinct, you say? Well no **** if this is what they call a "good idea")
of course if their goal was to create a destabilizing factor to keep the empires from growing powerful enough to threaten Jovian control, with CONCORD existing to prevent total capsuleer dominance, thats like aliens choosing to land in America instead of Europe " Hey! Blb'yshi'ta! See these two locations on Earth? One with nice reasonable people, and the other full of gun-toting xenophobic whackos sending military forces all over the world? Lets land in the dangerous one!" |

Capsuleer military forces aren't really directly comparable to any actual real world military. Well, maybe feudal kingdoms...
The closest you'll probably get is a corp/alliance that can actually shut the **** up when someone in charge is talking. |

Unlikely that you'll find anyone who sticks to IC while in voice comms. There are a number of groups that use IC channels and speak IC in local and may stick to IC for text fleet chat. Often (from my experience) a decent RP corp will have much better behavior on voice comms as well. As someone else mentioned however, with a name like yours you might find difficulty in being taken seriously by rp'ers. If you wish to rp as an Amarr and have character name that doesn't sound like something a 14 yr old came up with while giggling feel free to contact me in-game and I'll happily help point you in the direction of some respectable corps

I only found one corp that ever did that. Can't remember the name, but no matter because I remember the corp closing at some point. I wasn't actually in the corp, but they had a public channel. I joined the channel and hung around. I ended up thinking it was kind of lame. Basically because the the corp was a standard ratting corp. You'd think Eve, on account of its politics and the ability to hold systems and fight meaningful wars and all would actually have a good environment to integrate alliance goals with a role-play flavor. I find that the way people play Eve kind of works against this. Also, given the lack of avatar play and that we are stuck in the CQ, you can't really do more than chat in character. It didn't work for me.
You can tell from my bio that I have a bit of an RP flair, but mostly it is exercised in giving my characters personalities and backstories and relationships in my head. It's not something I do with others. i noticed the response above that said there are a lot of RP groups out there. Frankly I hardly found any and they weren't any good.

I think all EVE comms is roleplaying all the time. You are talking about plans, diplomacy. In other hands having the formality of communication thats just part of the culture of the corporation.
I seen corps where comms is a mess, but other were only certain people can talk. THere is a lot out there it all depends on the culture. I would expect FW people more formal than pirates though. |

I hate to burst your bubble but that is NOT how I communicated in military aviation command post (both Aussie and US Army)... We dropped all ranks and never asked for permission to report, we'd even drop call signs once we got to know peoples voices over radio...
Our scouts(Helicopters) didn't asked for more orders, they thought for themselves and kept scouting. I'm not there to make some officer feel important, I'm there to relay info to the officer so he can make a decision.
EVE fleet comms is pretty close to what combat comms is like, Short, sharp and to the point (without the swearing)
Of course there is always jokes and silly buggers :) but that's cause its a game and no one is going to rage that hard about being whelped :)
