This is the first saturday in a long time that the cluster seems to work pretty good. No posts about lag either.
25,600 players online too...

Actually, I was just flying down through Immensea, and of the 15 jumps I did it took me nearly an hour to get though. ---------- Please choose one signature image, as per the forum rules. - Teblin |

I did some manual load balance changes at downtime, mostly for diagnostic purposes. Seems to have stabilized the cluster a bit but the following constellations are under very heavy load: Aptetter, AZBG-H, Ekrin, HS7W-T, N5V-Y0, Orpana, Otawasa, Qermi, V2S-RH, Y-M7ML (might not apply to all systems in the constellations though) and the system 4C-Z91.
Other places in the universe seem to be doing fine and the usual suspects, Jita, Motsu and more are at low CPU constering the day of week ------ Valar Database admin - Server operations team CCP Games How to write a good bugreport |

Is there any statement of CCP if they wanna leave those Gate-Queues/Traffic-Control as it is ? I searched and didn't find something.

The node that Z-6NQ6 is mapped on is at 95% average CPU, I guess its been spiking to 100%, causing the symtoms you described. This is a very interesting behavior because the systems mapped to this node make the CPU load prediction only 56%.
A short investigation shows that there are over 1000 people using this node and thats an unusal load for the systems that are mapped there. Thats around 4 times the predicted load for it. ------ Valar Database admin - Server operations team CCP Games How to write a good bugreport |

We nearly called off an ops because of the lag. We went to Querious and the lag was that horrible that we turned back.
In Catch, it was somewhat better, which means only a few experienced emergency warps upon jumping and only a few couldn't lock a single thing during the engagements.
I'm very happy the devs are satisfied with the recent patches, but atm EVE is still unplayable for fleet operations.
I sincerely hope it gets better, but I doubt it. I came to a point I only log in to be with friends and don't give a damn about who kills who because the true luck factor in this game isn't EW: it's lag.

Just kidding, I don't mean it, I just couldn't resist. Y9G was awful, but there was a stupid amount of people there.

Aramachi has non stop been so laggy i've given up waiting and ****** off elsewhere, i still gotta make isk damnit. and btw, Valar, werent we told by Oveur that manually balancing the load, during DT or not, was so extremely harmful as it could have dire consequences that it was not even a consideration (which was in response to fore reporting fleet battles to make sure certain systems were given further resources in preparation of large scale battles)
Im a CCP fan, not typically against any CCP staff, but when i see 2 conflicting statements/actions by some of the top CCP staff, it makes me feel like at times you are flogging us off, and it makes me a little ****ed tbh.
I have all the patience in the world for you guys, i can understand, though i cannot always comprehend, what is going on and why you guys need time to get things sorted, but please, we're not kids, dont bull**** us. --

Not sure if the KIA's 9 pilots caused it, I get the impression the 200+ GOONS may have had a bit more of an effect though.

Was on from downtime till after 1am gmt (I know, therapy required).
Didn't leave placid, doing kill missions out of osmeden.
The entire day was lag free till about 2200 gmt, and then I had insane lag spikes, ending in a freeze of client that booted me. 10mins after logging back in, everything got back to nice lag free Eve.
I guess dynamic load balancing is out of the question or you would be doing it.
You get my vote for a very noticeable improvement over the last week, thanks for the work guys

But yeah everyone in Y9Q got dropped from the server twice (local peaked at ~260) and it was just a tad laggy .

Considering the sad state the server was in, I'd say the devs were willing to try anything that may help. It's not like it can get much worse in some areas.
