Is it worth it? Will Eve reach its potential? These two questions haunt every disgruntled post I've read on these forums.
The fact remains, 'we're still spending too much time doing the things we hate to get to the things we like'. A player can lose a BS and be setback for weeks, a prospect which has led one member of our squad to quit after losing two Mega's.
The beta was far more enjoyable, it had to change due to the exploits and bugs, but it was actually a blast. So like many I've hung on this long because I'd like to see 'Fun-Factor' return on my financial and time investment. I doff my helmet to those who are brave enough to cut their loses and walk away after giving so much of their time and money to the game.
In the meantime I find myself doing what increasing numbers of other players are doing by effectively hedging their bets: -loging on, starting a five day skill and logging off.

Or could it be that CCP actually did something really odd and created a game for people that actually have lives and not those that can spend hours and hours a day, everyday playing games.
I've been playing Eve since late Beta, maybe averaging not quite ten hours a week, including several week or longer breaks. I may not have the most expensive ship or the most Isk, but I still enjoy playing when I get the chance.

I love/hate the game. Sometimes I start to feel almost like it's a job, and that's when I have to take some time off, because it isn't.
A whole new dimension of EVE opened up for me when I moved out of empire space and into Venal about three months ago: Player-driven content.
It's the best content you can possibly hope for because it's chaotic and is not contrived. The things that have gone down in Venal since I've been there could not have been concocted by CCP ot any other devs. I keep telling people you could write a tragedy or a comedy about Venal, and you'd have plenty of material for both.
If I hadn't moved to Venal, I probably would have cancelled my account weeks ago. I was soloing in Karjataimon, making good money, and dying of boredom.
So I guess I'm recommending...if you can get out of empire space and into one of the regional alliances, you are far less likely to be bored all the time.

For those of you still playing Eve even though you hate it:
Losers.
Why play something you get no enjoyment from? Especially if you're paying for it.
ú10 a month isn't a bank busting amount but would you pay a window cleaner ú10 a month for not cleaning your windows?
Nope.
If you don't like the game, leave.
CCP have pretty much shown that they don't care what this forum and its inhabitants think so why bother trying to constructively generate a response from them?
CCP obviously have their own plans and ideas for the Eve project so either strap yourself in for the bumpy ride or go play Sims.
I love Eve!
If I have to see the end-game without you guys then great!
Good riddance to you bunch of ****head whiners.

I dont hate eve, i just dont like the bugs/exploits whatever you want to call it... lack of content?
anyway.. i want to play some CS... and that ****ed me off more then anything!!! lol here we thought valve might have something with there "steam" and there banning stuff... well guess what i saw first had at the madness hacks... there even worse then those in the old days... it made me so sick... everyone just quit the server and it was a 32 player one

lol its nice i still got some skill left in me but really, vs aim bots it makes everyone look like a noob...  i was able to notice there aim after a while when i saw them do some crazy stuff... andi know if i tried same exact thing due to game game mechanics its not possible... so ya i was right about the ppl hacking... at first as they didnt show it... but that game has at least great spectator and first person view 
I hope CCP takes a hard stand on cheating in this game because its the exact stuff that will drive people far far away...

The real problem is that all the good players in eve have finished this game long ago. The only ppl that are still 'loving eve' are new players or crap players who havent finished the game yet.
They have been promising content for months and we have nothing. Over the last months its became abundently clear that ccp dont have a ******* clue about online games.
And may i add for someone on their first mmog you have no idea how crap this game has become compared to others on the market.

When you have done everything a game has to offer many times you can consider it finished. And with ccps refusing to added content there is no point in staying.

Difference is I'll leave far before the 12-18 months Joshua and his CEO are willing to give CCP to release the real game. Difference is while I'm here I won't pretend everything is sunshine and rose petals. I find ways to have fun, despite both CCP's interference and lack of progress.
But I'll walk long before Joshua and the other fanbois around here will. They'll need a Sign from Above, aka server shutdown, to make it abundantly clear they got squeezed for every dollar for as long as possible.

Aye. Cancelled the other week. Not enough content, not enough features, but really... not enough fun (don't forget the cr.ppy support, and inability to let their fans in on the dirt).
