I want, once more, to feel that compulsion to play Eve during every spare minute I have. You know, the enthusiasm you had when you first started, while trying to build-up something from nothing.
I've really enjoyed working up to where I am with the game today but I've reached a brick wall content-wise; I wanted lots of ISK, I wanted to fly the biggest and best ships and know how to equip/use them - done & done/done.
I just can't keep doing the same things ad-infinitum...
Manufacturing/marketing/mining: Got that sussed but it's more like a chore now.
PvPirate: Fantastic adrenaline rush *when* it actually happens but so SO boring inbetween while looking for quarry. :)
Piracy: Nothing against it but it's not for me.
Missions: *yawns*.
Exploring: Sounds very seductive but I don't have the patience necessary.
There's 3 things keeping me here right now:
- Tech lvl2 and hope that that brings interest and diversity
- Eve is a great IRC client and the friends I've made here.
- I've spent all this time amassing ISK and 'stuff' and I'm not quite prepared to can it all.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not about to quit but I can see how I would if things don't improve for me.

I've been playing the Horizons beta rather happily since I got in, if that answers your question.
I'll give Eve until December, if CCP hasn't decided to stop being lazy and actually give us features that we should have had since June/July, then I'm gone. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

I'm not sick, I'm vehement. Really damned angry.
Beta was more fun than this monotonous doldrum we now have in this game. CCP has made so many poor choices for overall gameplay that I really have to wonder if there's something in the water of the CCP building.
The problems EvE has, they've yet to learn, cannot be fixed with reactionary, binary, ill concieved and under implemented solutions. I am in the Horizons beta as well, and frankly, I love it.
In Eve, I have gone from being an avid fan and staunch defender to feeling like a neglected child- Futher abused by ridiculous "features" and taunted by constantly broken promises.
The Vision was magnificent. I, however, have completely lost faith in CCP to execute that vision, or to see it's potential.
A word comes to mind- "Competentcy" It has been a long while since I have seen any from CCP. Pity.
Risen's Art for ISK - Custom made images, sigs, logos, etc. tailor made to your specification! Competative pricing and absolute satisfaction assured. Eve-Mail me for details If you can name it, I can frame it! |

The real problem is that all the good players in eve have finished this game long ago. The only ppl that are still 'loving eve' are new players or crap players who havent finished the game yet.
They have been promising content for months and we have nothing. Over the last months its became abundently clear that ccp dont have a ******* clue about online games.
And may i add for someone on their first mmog you have no idea how crap this game has become compared to others on the market.
Think you could do better? Joining a practically new field of computer games, throwing in all your time and effort, and trying new idea's, that, up to now, no one has dared to try?
If yes.. then sod off and do it, and I'll apologise when Im paying you a monthly fee to play your game!

Sounds to me like a bunch of people who are more into playing games for "free", ie. Beta. Good luck in Horizons. Won't miss ya here.
And another thing...

You mean, the speed-heads who ***** out all day, play 20 hours a day, rush rush rush to be the biggest, baddest, bestest, top-notch, first-guy-to-1tril-isk, or scariest pirate, yadda yadda. Yeah, they burned out, because they had to be Top. Had to be here the longest, say they were here, do all the **** so they can sit back now and complain, whine, and make shoddy attempts to ward off us newcomers so we quit because YOU are bored.
Welp, we're not. We like it, we waited a long time for it, and we're here to stay -- UNTIL WE DECIDE we've had enough. Not you Nay-Sayers.
These forums are cancer. Only, it's catching. Seems the more you bummers spout about how much you hate things, the more true it'll become.
Say it a few trillion more times, you've almost convinced yourselves.

If you were hear form the start and had a half a brain it was easy to make stupid amount of money very very fast, with little effort. And 'these players' as you put it did not burn out. They just finished the game. Eve has frankly been the easiest mmorpg i have ever played and frankly it requires very little skill.

The hallmark of any truly addictive game is how many rants and raves you find on the official forums. If it wasn't so enjoyable, people would just up and leave instead of complaining about the stuff that annoys them.
No, EVE SUCKS, it used to be awesome, now its nerfage, time sinks, bugs, and lazy developers.
Sadly though, no other mmorpg is better.
So eve isnt good, its just it doesnt suck as bad as everything else, and if the Devs were going for a mediocre game slightly above the rest, then they hace succeded.

I can honestly say I am fairly sick of eve but continue to pay for 3 accounts , but I have great hope for ambulation to restore some fun for me, theres many things ccp could do to make eve more fun mainly be unnerfing 0.0 living, I want more spawns cause the amount of people npc hutning out there makes it crap or I want to be able to remotly access missions from 0.0 so I don;nt have to compete with 10 other people rat hunting at same time, jumping from belt to belt and finding nothing is really boring.
I still do like to pvp though but sometimes I just want to relax and shoot npc's.
