For security reasons, as of 14:00 eve time on the 23-Oct-2003 Venal will be closing it's borders to all non NVA or NAP members. All current non combatents present in venal space are advised to leave immediatly until the war situation can be resolved.
Once the current threat to Venal has been resolved, operations will return to normal and borders once again opened.
Any ships remaining in venal space after 14:00 do so at their own risk. Defensive forces will be operating a KOS policy during this attack.
If your vessel is trapped behind the lines then we advise you to make contact with NVA fleet assets either via local chat, or by joining the NVA public channel and finding an NVA-flagged member.
If you ask permission to leave in safety and cooporate with NVA fleet assets you will not be harmed.
This announcement covers Venal, M-ONENA and HQ6Z-L Regions specifically.
PB, K-Tay, and Fade are not closed at this time, but be aware that heightened NVA fleet patrols in these regions will be on full war alert and it is important to declare your intentions and keep an eye on local chat.
The NVA council thanks you all for your cooporation and understanding in this time of great anxiety and warlike preparation.

I'd have to guess a courtesy for those who use venal? Perhaps trying to keep them alive, and a way to cover our ass when we kill probably enemies inside venal? (Ahh the alts that stream into these forums when running a blockade) A creative way of trying to keep innocent people alive b/c they are afk on autopilot believing that the area is at a state of peace?
I don't see what your problem is, other than the fact you can't pass up a chance to speak bad of jade. Try remember that this is a game, and you can do things like her press releases to give information to others who need it.

Who is presenting this release is irrelevant.
Venal is closed until further notice. We are in a state of war, and as such our borders are open only to those we trust, and at this present time, that doesnt reach very far outside of the NVA membership. This is only a temporary measure.
Anyone In venal as of tonight, that shouldnt be, will be deemed a potential threat/spy, and dealt with accordingly.
This is the only way we can lockdown our beloved area frm the invading scum.
You want someone to blame for this, look no further than the Invaders trying to disrupt our building of a safe Venal.

I dont get the importance of this release.
Except maybe to say that Venal is now at war which i'm pretty sure has been covered in the other threads of backstabbing and treachery i like to call "Venality"

Derek, Venal has been open to all except for mass mining ops for weeks now, while the NVA charter is being put together. This unfortunate state of affairs that has been forced upon us for now, means we are totally closed.
This will change with resolution of this current "war". (description loosely used)

I'm impressed, they had the nerves to stand by the making of the new VA for weeks before deciding it's easier to just shoot them, I doubt many others would have had that much time to waste.
Enjoy Venal, you're certainly making it true to its meaning. Oh and incase you eventually next year or the year after that might get a charter written together while having peace in the region, could you please post up some road signs that show us where the riches that venal used to have are? There doesn't seem to be much to fight over up there(yes, those 20+ jump bistot mining ops must be a joy...) yet it seems the last 2 months of Venal's existence have seen one War with Jade after the other...

If man wants a home he builds himself one. What has the NVA built so far? 2 months of more or less constant warfare and still not even a charter to show for it, indeed as of the posting of this status of war the NVA and as such Venal have reverted back where they were 6 weeks ago. I'm pretty sure you can get a home anywhere in the galaxy but venal far easier and with far less problems than what we have seen people in Venal go through. Home, what an excuse really. If you leave the empire you do it for profit, nothing else should be of concern. The home is where one makes profit afterall, not where one gets to fight in one war after the other, with a whole bunch of people arguing over just exactly what the NVA charter should and shouldn't include. True, venal was once a nice region, lots of minerals, a nice quiet spot in the northern parts of the universe with agood population of pirates to farm and lots of good corps up there. During the last 3 months however we have seen the roids mined out(apart from those 20+ jump ordeals ofc). One corp after the other leaves the region and we have witnessed more political instability in Venal during those 3 months than during the centuries of anarchy before the appearance of the VA and NVA to the region.
Perhaps it is indeed time that the people of Venal ask themselves which was better, the coexistence of corps during the months prior to the founding of the VA, or what has happened ever since? True, some will not have that knowledge of how things used to be, say Oberon who decided to come all the way from their now defunct regional alliance on the other side of the universe(let's not go into what that should tell us about their political skills...) to Venal or even indeed Jade Constantine and the Jericho Fraction. Things in Venal used to be good, there was no coordinated alliance, but corps from TTI to Xanadu to BladeRunners and many more were still up there making ISK and apart from the lone pirate the region was indeed very safe and peaceful. But hey, who am I to complain, I left the place a while ago and while I do have some hangars up there with items I would need frankly I feel little need right now atleast to enter the space of the political circus of EVE that is called New Venal Alliance.

Dunno, depends on if they (NVA) are willing to call of their blockade.
Their forces, numbering at one time near 40 at their blockade point, were defeated in a series of running battles. Overall, probably (and i am only guessing), one of the biggest battles ever seen.
Of the 40 vesels, perhaps as many as 10 vessels escaped destruction.
Do they still have enough ships to enforce a permanent blockade of Venal? They could try, but if they provide themselves as a target in the weakened state they are in, they will invite an even bigger strike next time.
NVA take this to heart: that raiding force, at its peak, was 21 ships made up of 15 BS and 6 cruisers. Current BioMass numbers are just shy of 100 members. We could have fielded a fleet three times that size if we needed to.
Call off your closure of Venal. Let the miners stare at rocks for hours on end, and tell Jade to take some valium or something. The reason for this action, this deep penetration into "Jade Space" (EWW!!!!) was 60% due to her mouth, and 40% because of increasing incursions by NVA fleets into our space. If you can't play nicely with your toys, we will take them away from you. So shut up Jade, call off your blockade of Venal, and don't come into our space with more than three ships at a time, or better yet, don't come into our space at all.
That will buy you peace... for a while... (hey, don't take it personally, it's just a pirate thing, Arrrghhhh.. )

Yes you have won an impressive victory but unless you remain in Venal 24/7 for the next 7 days (and the next 7 after that) and shut the region down entirely, all your gains will be neutralised and as grains of sand slipping through your fingers.
Do you have the will to engage in total war and abandon all other interests to make this victory stick?
Thats the question.
Remember Biomass, NVA took a beating for six weeks during the Taggart war before turning the tide.

Don't tell me that those several weeks of war was not a miserable thing for the NVA. Back then you at least had somewhat of a fighting force and what you haven't lost in materials now---you have lost capable personnel (Hupa etc).
You have to also understand Jade the war ended because of many circumstances outside of it (smoked) that had nothing to do with Venal. We could have easily taken the war a lot further but CHOOSE not to; not FORCED not to.
With the ousting of smoked---it simply was not our fight anymore Jade...THIS ONE IS and with good reason...
...You asked for this Jade. You begged us. You wanted an enemy to unite your cause and you got one. You can't call on the Devil and expect to control him Jade.

Such a thing would need to be presented to the NVA council and needs a majority of representatives to support it.

We remember Christopher Xen's terms quite well from the last war.

I'm sorry guys, all is fair with in-game warfare but Mongo has gone too far. I had a complete sense of humour failure with his threat to script-flood the auto-registration section of the NVA forum that I administrate.
I wanted to play the game this afternoon but ended up chasing security holes and reporting potential abuse that a moronic new Biomass player threatened.
I am not impressed ... not impressed at all.

ok then ...here is the facts .. last night Biomass and SI went to break your fleet in pure blind . that was a victory as NVA lost one scorpian BS and multiple cruisers , we lost none . the rest of the NVA fleet ran to hide . after that took place we saw your pilots flocking in venal where we then went to invade . and yes one more time m'dear muppet we were in fact in Venal. n-q if you want facts! you then lost a few cruisers to our blockade . at that point our spies in Rona informed us of a mine feild not at the drop in point but at least 40k away from the drop in point . my guess is the mine feild was for lag . either that or the person /persons who put the mines there had bad positioning. after about two hours of killing appraoching cruisers ect ect .. we decided to go . and let the server downtime reset the mine feild . your waste of time is better than ours ....after all we made over 100mil in less than a couple hours, so I would say we were once again the ones on top. as for these forums . Im off to hang out in this wonderful city "NYC" jade+muppet=windbag... have a nice day

NVA is FAR from dead... and well most experienced pvp players and corps didnt even participate in the "fight" that occured a few days ago. We will see how the outcome will be when those players and corps are in the fights to come.

i though that biomass were actually skill fighter but i was wrong i guess. they have to rely on spy. that is all i got to say. and i'm really shame to know that one of my rona corp member would sell him/herself to a pirate corp. members always come first in rona corp, if u feel you are mistreated or ignore, please come see one of the exec and we can usually work something out but please, do not turn to the "dark" side.

Umm, wouldn't the intell you were getting from Terra Nova before they switched sides count? A spy is someone who works for you while passing themselves off as either neutral or friendly to your enemy, which certainly fits what TN was doing..

As much as I hate to agree with Mongo, espionage has been an integral part of warfare since the dawn of time. Not only is it a valid tactic, it is a crucial one, and yes, we use it too.
My only problem with it is that in real life, if you know there's a spy in your midst, there are many different actions you can take to ferret the individual out. In EVE, those options are virtually nonexistent. If an individual who's spying doesn't do anything really, really stupid, there's virtually no way to catch him.

good tactical officer wouldnt require use of spies or bribde someone for info. they will just use "scout". then again i never would expect pirates to rely on skill fighting alone and win a battle " fair and square" i honestly though pirates were skill fighter but knowing that they are using spies vs scout skill diminish my view of their fighting skill. it's just how i feel about it. no need to reply to it. just my 2 pennies.

I was just razzing sonia a bit. Sometimes people get real paranoid about stuff.
Like before the big DE/NVA fight. After the fight, we were talking with some of the NVA folk and they were convinced that we had spies in their midst. Nothing could have been further from the truth. But I think that fear of spies lead to some paralysis of action, and that only added to their problems when the big battle took place.
What terra nova did wasn't spying... it was outright treachery They meticulously lead you into a trap, and you went with it the whole way. I mean spying is on one level, and what terra nova did "kicks it up ten notches".
All in all though, that's great because it adds to the lore of the game.
The big back-stab will be remembered long after the small battles have faded in memory.
Its all cool. It's still just a game.

The point you may be missing monsieur Venom; is that this is not just "our war". These Biomice wish to run and dominate merchant shipping without restraint throughout the spacelanes of Eve.
It is a little remarked fact these days, that we invited the Biomice attack by striking at their operations in Jan/Obe and even Geminate as a symbol of our opposition to their endeavours.
We knew they would strike at Venal in return, and in our heart of hearts we knew the war would be long and bloody and thus far it has not disappointed.
Eve is an environment where you cannot simply leave matters for "other people" to resolve and then hope to reap the rewards of peace.
I despise those who chose not to be involved in contests of arms and battle between light and darkness, hope and despair.
Sitting on the fence is useless when the galaxy cries out for justice and just retribution.
If these pirates and biomice at EC-PBR offend you Black Venom then bring warships to strike them. Base missile frigates and EW blackbirds at Torrinos and be prepared to join any action to blast them from their camping spots.
Assuredly the NVA will continue this war to the ultimate conclusions to come.
But if the period of warfare grates on your nerves then do something about it.
Make common cause with those who hate these strutting pompous killers and strike blows of revenge and hatred-mingled.
Find out where they mine, where they trade.
Watch them, plan, infiltrate their circles.
And destroy them as we will.

Ec-P8r already was blocked by Space Invaders, Jokers, Even biomass from time to time. To be honost i saw this coming. And about that joining NVA? Whell i mailed u once about even joining NVA but i didnt got any reply, so no iam not going to join either NVA or biomass. Where small corp we cant afford a war. I dont like NVA... U dont help when people ask, barly guard ur space, U block of ur system and if miners enter u blow em up. But i made my point and wont be involved it this. Untill we can afford it. But then we choose the side we want.

All that was apparent from you earlier comms and questions is that you wanted somebody else to protect your shipping while you made isk.
Sorry m'dear, but thats not going to happen without showing a little commitment and willing to the ideals of the alliance.
On the whole yes, we will do our best to help wayfarers in those disputed Biomice-infested systems, but they are and always have been, dangerous.
Simply whining at us for not magically killing all the pirates there at your request is pointless.

lol my mail was about what do we gain, and what must we give to get into it, the requirments etc, what u said is all but true m'dear, second i never said anything about so that we can make isk when u secure it. Alote of people were gedding killed there and i was thinking about future travlers. I warned them alote but i cant be on 24/7 so i asked for the local alliance and ask u guys to clear it so innocents dont get blown up,as u are a ''good'' corp i thouth u would make it safe for them. But i guess NVA is to selfish and only want to ''gain'' something in return. I dont care what Biomass thinks about me or us thats all beside the point here.

For those of you not here already, come on up! I've been hanging around Y-4CFK/6NJ/BVIP for the past two days and gotten three indys and a thorax just messing around for a couple hours in my blackbird. Their Battleships chase meh but I am teh slippery! There really is no "secure" or "protected" space in this game. Anyone can slap on two MWDs and go anywhere they want late at night. I've ran at least half a dozen gates with a battleship guarding it just for me and you can too! Just come up here, make bookmarks for a safe place midwarp in each system you want to cover; find out how to instadock or instajump when you can; and then stay afk midwarp when you're not checking belts or camping the jumpin so they are always seeing you in local, but never knowing exactly when you're hunting. And you get to hear the n00bs insult you over and over again on local acting like complete retards. It's very funny laughing at the ingnorant children who are in their megathrons from mining scordite and think they are good or something. ;)
SO JOIN IN THE FUN! If you're lucky Jade might even take a break from his/her busy self-absorbing life to travel in your direction! Did I say life? Yeah, right.

I feel Jade is being perfectly fine here. And be it propaganda or be it the truth, I will still follow her word cause she's at least a decent person. I mean I will say Kiane'tra of SI ain't too bad from what little we talked (think one occasion), but well trap for instance sounds like a 14 year old wanna be rapper with turrets syndrom. OK without pirate corps this game would be less then thrilling but...
Why the hell does Molly have to repsond to every dam thread and statement??
