This is very odd. I've been in several systems in Vale of the Silent, and have killed dozens and dozens of Cruiser-sized Guristas NPCs. I haven't seen a single BS-sized spawn at all tonight. I've relogged and even asked a few others what their experiences have been, and those who were awake and talkative said yes, matter of fact there hasn't been a BS sighted for some time. I have visited literally dozens of belts in over a dozen system, and what's weird too is there is usually a gate-camping BS spawn here and there. I don't see those either. Is something going on?

Hours later, nothing but Cruisers and "Dire" Guristas Frigs.
Very odd, I heard this happens every Sunday/Monday? |

I'd love to, but the petition system is already overloaded. From what I gather (I'm not a full time NPCer) this happens every Sunday to Monday, no spawns of BSs. Can anyone else confirm this? |

Maybe people are going around killing the battleships, and leaving the non-battleship spawns.
Which would mean that when there is a re-spawn, it still might be either a battleship spawn or a non-battleship spawn. People kill off the battleship spawns quickly, though, and eventually all the belts will hold unwanted cruiser spawns.
This would probably be more noticable on weekends when there are more players, possibly including ones that dont care about chaining spawns, so that the battleships respawn.

No, there is definately a problem here. There are next to no people here in Vale. Nobody. Yet system after system, tonight, there are NO Battleship sized NPCs. I've been thru literally dozens of systems, and almost a hundred belts, and nothing was over 500k in bounty. This is an issue, not a fluke.

No, to make it clear (Sorry if there was any confusion) this only happens on Sunday night/Monday morning Eve-time, before the Monday DT.

This problem is still ongoing, and I'd like to know if anyone else can chime in that they've seen it. |

(laughs to himself)
Welp, being a former Big Blue local, I can say this is normal for the vale region as an entirety. (at minimum IPS) We never could figure it out.
Regardless, that's the property. --------- >>Disclaimer: Anything Nukeitall says is not to be taken seriously. Mostly. |

every system has a max number of spawns at one time. kill off the frig/bc's to give bs's a chance to spawn.

It's only in Vale of the Silent, only on Sunday-Monday between downtimes, and trust me-it's cruiserfest and below only. Even in the systems with 5 or less belts, there's no BS to be found during this timeframe. I've been in communication with members of my Alliance and until I brought it up it was thought to be an individual bug. It seems that the NPCs park their battleships once a week. Maybe it's some sort of holy day? |

I have to actually get some sort of hard fact but the matter remains, the only **** day of the week I want to try and NPC I run into this problem Apparently it has been presented as a bug report with no remedy other than "NPC spawns are random kthxbye" from other players up here. However, CCP loves my bugreports , so I'll hammer away at this matter until I am satisfied the problem has been addressed. (I mean really, every **** night there's BS spawns as usual, cluttering up the belts and gates. Then Sunday comes and they vanish. Like clockwork. That's what I get for trying to NPC eh?) |

ok, this time, listen... every system has a maximum number of simultaneous spawns. you say it's a cruiser fest, so there are spawns in the belts. now, if your system supports say, 5 max spawns, and they're all frig/cruiser, there's no room for bs's to spawn. i hear this complaint frequently from people new to 00 hunting. soon as they get it thru their (varying degrees of thickness) heads that you must kill off the small stuff to make room for the bs's, things usually straighten out.

My apologies on this point I didn't make explicitly clear: I left no NPC alone. Every single Frigate and Cruiser on this particular night/day in question I destroyed. I spent over 3 hours working from the tip of Vale down several systems, methodically removing every single NPC spawn encountered, and notating that on this night/day in question there was not a single instance of a NPC ship of the size "Battleship" or larger. On 3 of these 5 days in question I took a short one+ hour break by logging off, then back on and repeated the route and methodology with the same results: No BS sized NPC spawns in Vale of the Silent on Sunday evening to Monday morning (local time). I repeated this test five times now on Sunday with the same results. There has only been two occasions in the last two months where my game play and timing afforded me the chance to test the same route and methodology, and both of those occasions all size NPC ships (from Dire to Dread, Frigate to Battleship) were spotted and engaged and destroyed. These two occasions were a Tuesday and a Thursday, in weeks separated by more than 14 calender days.
The official? response to this interesting question was:
"NPC spawn times and rates are completely random"
So there it is, non-random randomness. And I need another Mountain Dew |

Seems like a Vale only thing. My experience in Feyth, Esoteria, and Period Basis have all been that I can find a bs spawn at any given time any day of the week (except during DT of course :P)
Bugreport sounds like your best bet.
