ETC For Isk Sales Need to be fixed price now.
But in short the way to cut out all the crap solve the macrominers, the isk sellers, the now abuse of the ISK for ETC system.
CCP Needs to provide an exchange rate and system for purchasing isk directly. Rubber stamp it. It becomes a fixed economy that is hard to abuse.
P.S. its work with project entropia and its a two way exchange system

I pay with my Debit card. It has the visa logo on it. It acts just like a credit card. As long as it has the VISA or whatever accepted credit card logo then you should be able to use it to pay for EVE. ---

Why? What's wrong with supply-and-demand determining the price?
Quote: But in short the way to cut out all the crap solve the macrominers, the isk sellers, the now abuse of the ISK for ETC system.
I don't see how these 3 are connected. Sure, the MM's and ISK sellers obviously are. But the only connection to ISK for ETC is that RL cash is involved.
With ISK for ETC, CCP gets the $$ they want, some players can save their RL cash for other things, and players with more RL cash than ISK can get the ISK they want.
Quote: CCP Needs to provide an exchange rate and system for purchasing isk directly. Rubber stamp it. It becomes a fixed economy that is hard to abuse.
I don't see any abuse above, could you explain it?
Also, directly selling game money is a bad idea. It creates a flood of new money into the game which does horrific things to the game's economy. With ISK->ETC, there is no new ISK being created.
Disclaimers: I've sold an ETC for ISK. Also I do not speak for my corp, alliance, or anybody else. I just type what the voices in my head tell me to.

You go and sell your crappy "ETC"'s for 300mil and I will sell my quality GTC's for 500mil. Might be shocking but 300mil from 30day gametime is what I got like year ago. You just have to know right persons

I see no issue with GTC getting higher, it is supply and demand. I am sure if there are enough complaints though *ahem* the practice might not be allowed at all. Be happy they are there!

On the upside this that isk will be cheaper to buy. If 90days = 500 isk that means 500isk now = $38. The downside to this is you will now see prices go through the roof on the market because all the noobs buying isk will now have 2x as much to spend. Hello 500isk HACs.

I have to wonder where players get the idea that isk is relitive to RL $$$....as if you can BUY ISK on auction sites...and some sites that sell gtc's...
If the isk trade for GTC is now costing more isk for the same GTC, then that means there is a problem with isk inflation (isk is devalued).
This is a result of large ammounts of isk hitting the market, OR that the isk sellers are getting less for the isk, thus they will want more isk per GTC to make up the difference in lost RL revenues.
How to fight such a problem...hmmm...
-CCP sell isk for RL cash? NO WAY! (but it would make the isk sellers cry)
-CCP stop selling GTC....not a wise move either.
-CCP trace illicit isk gains (via exploits) and trace the isk/items, and ban the players involved, thus remove the isk and items from use, increasing value of isk in the game....you never know, they may do this.
Now if CCP really wanted to stop things and they didn't give a dang about losing a few legit players...
-Stop the selling of GTC for isk,
-Stop the selling of characters for isk,
-Stop the ability to transfer characters to other accounts,
-Limit transaction via a 24 hour timer so a gm team can review isk/sells/item transfer over a set value/limit, to prevent obvious laundering (patterns of behaviour, and it makes it clear the isk will be tracked)...they would just need to hire the rest of their town as gm's to do this...so don't hold your breath on this one

Originally by: Rahn Sohwant It's simple economics, supply and demand. The demand is outstripping the supply so much, that I'd be surprised if you couldn't get 500m for a 90 day card right now. As it stands, if a seller posts that he has 4 card for sale, if you don't convo him within 5 minutes of the post, they'll all be gone. Thank the rise in isk farming, and by that I mean thank the people who actually buy from the farmers and make it worthwhile for them.
I don't know anything about Canada, but can't you get a Debit card that acts just like a Visa and takes right out of your account? It should work just like a credit-card version of the same card.
No we can not get the debit card that acts a credit card yet that is only american we arn;t gonna get that for another few years i am told.

I think you are thinking about Chuck Norris... we got a lot of WoW nubbins in EVE now and they seem to like ol' Chuck. Maybe its because of his late night 'as seen on tv' excercise scheme or his ability to destroy the universe with his stare all while partying with pron stars with big boobs.

Originally by: Kassidus Right now I have no creditcard and live in canada so the only option for me now is to use ISK to get a time card, but WTF Im seeing cards selling now for over 425mill isk for 90 day cards!! they have gone from 250 to almost 450 in just around a month.
Its fine that ccp allows this but cant they put some kind of regulation on its sale? If this price stays like this i cant play the game anymore, as its pretty hard for a newer player to make 450mill in 3 months unless i play way to much.
this is crazy
Supply and demand?
You live in Canada, use paybycash or some other method. you have atleast a debit card don't you?
What's crazy is the idea that CCP would actually step in and say 'ok guys, you have to charge less ISK for the GTCs because it's not fair to people who buy them'. I think they're planning to do that right after they force T2 producers to sell at only 50-100% markup.
Making 450mil in 3 months can't be that hard. Run 1-2 level 4s a day and you should have well more than enough.

While you're at it, put artificial prices on HACs too, they're far too high!
Seriously, if don't want to use your real money to play the game, you have no right to ***** about the people who are willing to use their real cash to do so. Can't afford the GTC? Pay for it with real money. Don't want to or can't afford it? Tough ****. It's your choice.
Now, what I would like CCP to do is integrate GTCs into the contracts system (and make it so you can only buy GTCs through contracts). The person who buys the GTC makes a GTC contract and enters in the code. This code is then locked meaning no account can be activated with this code (so you can't put a GTC up on contracts and then activate an account with it in order to scam someone).
When the person wins the contract, they are prompted for the account name that they wish to put the GTC on. The GTC is then registered to that account. Finally, the user logs into the EVE-O website with that account and then clicks "activate game time card" and voilla, 30/90/100/etc days are added onto the account and CCP can trace every single transaction. AFAIK it is also scam proof (unless some idiot attempts to buy the GTC via other means, in which case he deserves to get scammed).

Goto one of the many places that sell secured credit cards (IE. You give them the amount you want on the card plus a small fee) and use it.

Well........I pay by Debit Card (not Credit, Debit) which is entirely available to thosee declared legally bankrupt, afaik, as its not a form of loan. Every 6 months, (or whatever time you like) CCP take money out of my account, just like a.........wait for it......Direct Debit!
Your options arn't just Credit / Pay-by-cash / GTC or nothing. -----------------------------------------------
