I came back about a month ago, only have about 2 months under my belt so far. I have just been mining and security missions in high sec. I haven't participated in much chat or anything until today. Someone said something about how tough the game was on him. I just said, "it was on us all". And BAM. The bounties started mounting on my head. I am a lowbie with a 311+ million dollar bounty for saying "it was on us all". So, I'll wait it out I guess, if they don't want me to play. How long should I wait until I come back? And yes, I have minimized chat now and won't participate anymore. :) |

OK, I hope so. We'll see. I'll quit before I allow high level players with unlimited amounts of isk sit around and do nothing but play childish games by randomly placing overly expensive bounties on new players in high sec zones. |

Bounties are just a number under your portrait, nothing else.
Nobody can shoot you? Do you mean nobody is "supposed" to shoot you? I would think sacrificing a 20 million isk ship for 311+ million isk might be worth it. Just trying to understand the mechanics.

OK, so basically I was right to begin with. This was just a child acting like a child hoping to get to me. I was hoping I could get around that type of childish mentality, but I guess I can't. But it doesn't appear to be too bad yet. So thanks for the clarifications. |

It's a PVP game, you get killed a lot, and the payout on each kill is smaller than what they can get from looting the wreck of your exploded ship, so I don't think anybody makes the decision to risk a whole fleet of their ships to hunt you solely for your measly bounty payout.
One thing you kinda have to do in EVE is move away from the idea of building a pristine, perfect character. You sit in station avoiding all conflict to have the perfectly skilled character, and two years down the road you push the wrong button and shoot a station and boom your perfect toon is now marred by a negative security status. It's pointless, and your bounty points this out to you right now.
Go out, play the game, shoot other players, screw the consequences. Your character isn't a princess, it's just a way for you to achieve fun. Pointless if you don't have the fun.
Uh, what does that have to do with my question again? |

I just wanted to know if vertearn players could grieve new players this way. It was answered, no they cant. I am happy. Sorry you hate my question and my attitude. Can I delete the thread?
I just said one sentence for my first time in chat and get bounties, then make my first post and question here, it gets misinterpreted and I get ridiculed. I will not quit due to this. But I won't participate in public if this is the way it is. Ill just work at it as far as I can alone. Wasn't my original plan, but I can adapt with my surroundings. :) |
