Well, I had originally planned to wait until I'd finished my 'blank slate' template before posting here, but I've decided to test the water, so to speak.
I played Eve for a few months back in 2004 but never really got into it, I don't think I could fully grasp the scope of the game back then. Recently I have returned, seeking more depth in my online gaming, and what better place to turn than the game whose depth I couldn't even fathom. So, I've decided to aim for the long run. My character has been training learning skills for the most part this last month, as I am still undecided if I want to go the PVP/Combat route or the industrial/mining route to begin with. My original plan was to make my character a 'blank slate' before making one of these posts, that being the training of the majority of the necissary support skills (engineering, electronics, learning, mechanic, etc) without going very far down either the combat or industrial routes.
Now, I'm not in any hurry to join a corporation just yet, though finding a good group of people to play with would be nice, so if my current amount of Skill Points is lower than your corporation's requirements I'd still like to hear from you.
I'd like to think I have quite a bit to offer, asside from my cunning intellect and sly wit. First and foremost I am a dedicated player and willing to give 100% to the betterment of my chosen corporation, as I find much more fufillment in helping a cohesive group of people, rather than just myself. I am an avid gamer and while my experience in Eve is rather limited I believe once exposed to the more complex aspects I'll be able to pick up on them very quickly(PVP mostly, I have a pretty good grasp of blowing 'rats up, mining, and hauling.) I'd also like to concider myself a trustworthy and self-sacrificing fellow. I have a USB headset, so I'm also capable of hiss-free teamspeak/ventrilo goodness, and my character is pretty much a blank slate at the moment, willing to branch towards either the combat line or the industrial line depending on your corporation's needs.
Now, for what I'm looking for. The most important factor for me in choosing a corporation to play out my time in this game is the people. Throughout every MMOG I've played(and the list is quite extensive) I've held true to "The people make the game" philosopy. Sure, the graphics can be pretty, and the quests interesting, but that can only keep one interested for so long. I'm looking for a 'close knit' group of mature individuals, it's been since the glory days of Ultima Online since I've really felt part of a 'community' in gaming. I'm also looking for a corp with a goal in mind, something I can get behind too.
Now for the general stuff. This is getting rather long. I'm on the west coast of Canada so primarily on 5:30-10ish Pacific Time (GMT-8) so obviously I'm looking for a corporation mainly active during those times. I do work full time, and have a life (occasionally) so I'd prefer not to be penalized for missing corp ops. I'm rather self sufficient at the moment, thanks to a healthy nest-egg I left for myself when I quit the first time, can afford to replace my little kestrel a hundred times over, so I'm not too worried about getting blow'd up.
Once again I'd just like to say I'm really just 'looking' right now, as I have no illusions that my character is much use to anyone at the moment, the majority of his skills being in learning and just enough outside of it to fly 'round running Level 1 missions. I'm here for the long haul though, and I'm hoping, within the next month or two, to be with the corp I'll grow with for the forseeable future. Both RP and non-RP corps welcome to reply, I have extensive Roleplaying experience, but am not exclusivly searching one way or the other.
Thank you for taking the time to read my long, rambling post.
