Learn to fly an Iteron V and Covetor. Do a search on those 2 ships and check what skills you need to fly them.

it might also be helpfull to train to fly the gallente cruiser, exequror. with gallente cruiser at level 2 you can have 720m3 of cargo space and have 4 high slots to mount weapons and mining lasers which will helpwhile you train the skills needed to fly the covetor. for the industrial train amar industrial skill and fly a bestower. it might not have as much room as the iterion mk 5 but at amar indie skill level 1 with cargo expanders in all low slots it is in the top 3 indies for cargo space with minimal skill requirements. ok i will admit that the iterion mk5 is the ship with the most cargo space ( i have a alt in a iterion 5 that can haul 18000m3,) but if you just want a indie to haul in empire space and not have to spend ages skill training then the bestower is the way to go there is also the annoying fact that basic indies can only have 1 high slot (mining in a indie solo = a slow painfull path to insanity ) for a mining career go for ships in this order 1)exequror 2)covetor 3)mackinaw for the hauler stay with the exequror and bestower to start and train navigation skills, asthais will help you in both ship classes. what you cant fit in the cruiser put in the indie

The covetor takes a long time to learn how to fly because you need a couple rank 4s at lvl 5. What I would suggest is learn to fly an industrial of some sort then go for Caldari Cruiser so you can fly an osprey. The best way to mine is either jet can or into a giant secure container then pick up the goods in an industrial. The cargo cap of your ship doesn't matter nearly as much as the mining rate and an osprey (there's also a minmatar cruiser that will work too) gives you a nice mining rate bonus. Train up an industrial, caldari cruiser, then mining 4 (so you can using mining laser IIs) and you'll be able to mine well while you enter the long dark night of training for a covetor.

My suggestion would be to train Amaar Industrial to rank 1. This will save you some time on training up the Gallente skill tree, and a Bestower can outhaul an Iteron 4. After that, get yourself up to covetor, and if you really feel like going back, you could learn the Iteron V, though to be frank, if you're going to transport ships, you're better off sticking with Amaar because of the lowslot advantage.
