Why the obsession with curtailing other people's freedom as a player? If people want to shoot other players, why not let them? You didn't answer my question. The majority of systems in new Eden have far fewer restrictions on PvP and the residents have no problem being shot at. They tend to shoot back though, and not with large railguns against an ishkur like most of your customers. A majority of people live in highsec, so there's that.. They're also probably not going to bring a couple of falcon alts or friends, or be linked to high heaven.

Recycling alts is, but creating an alt that you entirely do not care about is a massive part of the game. Having -10 sec status on a ganking alt doesn't affect your mains ability to play normally in highsec. Disposable implies that an alt is thrown away or destroyed after use, which is against the rules as for all intents and purposes you're "recycling" it for another one. Gankers use disposable ships, they don't use disposable alts. You need to find another word. No, it's not. You can delete negative sec status characters. What's against the rules is recycling alts to avoid sec status penalties. An alt to do a bunch of ganking then get deleted when it's no longer needed is not against the rules. It's only if they create an alt, use it to gank, delete it, create a new one - repeat, that is against the rules. Being disposable simply means that it can be thrown away once it's intended use comes to an end. Kaarous Aldurald wrote:Bumping in and of itself does not generate isk. Period. Neither does mining, industry or hauling. In my mind, saying that bumping generates isk the same way mining produces isk, is a bit dumb. It's more like how providing mining boosts would improve the isk/hour, but this is much more RNG based.
@the person that said nothin gin the game is RNG based for income, dead space farmers/officer/faction farmers disagree. They might make isk while attempting their primary income (via bounties/overseers drops), but their primary income is RNG based.
And at the person I quoted, creating an alt to ganks nd then recycling him because that's his purpose and it's fulfilled is against the rules. But if he's a station trading alt and you decide you're bored of that and decide to start suicide ganki and end up deleting him, that's allowed. You might've been saying that and I just misunderstood. |

Except that isn't true. Some of the biggest dunks I've ever seen in highsec were by defender mercs. (well, that and CODE) Quote: and an industry corp by definition is going to have ties with fewer effective pvp pilots than their opposition.

If only there was a chat channel for exactly that purpose... There's a chat channel for exactly that purpose? Heck there's more than one merc channel, last time I checked. Nevermind a dozen or more regular posters here that advertise merc services. Oh, I thought you meant a centralized merc channel. I've only heard of that once (In the Locates Are Us MOTD) |

Anyway, people seem to really hate and overestimate war deccers.. A majority are <10 man corps and don't fly Vindicators 23/7. You guys make it out like they're 700 man alliances that have full HG snake Vindicator fleet with 30 man Guardian chain support. |

Let us hope that EVE allows even one person inclined to real life crime to funnel their negative desires into the virtual world instead. Having been a victim of both real life mugging and EVE ganking, I say please more EVE crime if it would reduce that in real life. Some would suggest that having a place which allows you to virtually commit a crime will further those negative desires and allow them to more easily escalate into real life crime. Those would be the edge cases.. Otherwise we'd have 12 year olds running around with guns shooting up each other in real life |

You guys make it out like they're 700 man alliances that have full HG snake Vindicator fleet with 30 man Guardian chain support. It is the same with gankers. Many people come to the forums with the view that gankers are some unnatural menace that have unlimited resources, unlimited manpower and the ability to be everywhere at once. Perhaps it is part of human nature to overestimate the strength of an unknown opponent and assume the worst case scenario, but it isn't very useful to immediately paint yourself as the victim and give up on protecting yourself because you think it impossible to win. This is a competitive PvP game. Gankers and wardeccers are just other players, sometimes just as new and inexperienced as you are or perhaps you feel. There is much you can do fight against wardeccers, even powerful and organized ones, especially if you have numbers, and there are mechanisms built-in to the game for you to get help. And gankers, well, the mechanics of highsec give you all the cards so you can actually be near 100% safe if that is what you want with just some sacrifice of yield, or spending a little effort. Eve is designed so you are not 100% safe but that is no reason to give up on your own defense because you cannot be perfectly safe. In fact, figuring out how to protect yourself and balancing that with generating your income is the game. I see goons on those freighter mails. What was that about gankers not having unlimited resources? How many of these glorious content creators have alts (or mains) safely printing ISK in alliance null? And goons make up all gankers and there are 0 noobs in GSF, right? |

You should also remember that there are no victims of suicide ganking, just willing volunteers. just willing volunteers? are you saying that people who have been ganked are willing volunteers? Based on the Golden Rules, yes. Quote: You consent to PvP when you click "undock". |

Well, that's not really making it harder. Just adding harder bits. Tale, however, (I think that's the name) will change npcs and is supposed to make pve harder (or something) |
