Edited by: DeadDuck on 28/09/2006 14:45:43 TBH I'm trying to find the answer to those questions also ... I'm playing for 15 months now and my main activity has been PVP. I' ve been involved in some massive PVP operations and POS shooting, etc... in the end you kill and get killed ... the true adrenaline of PVP is the 1vs1 but that is rare to happen.
I think that the answer to a increasing boredom is maybe take some vacations for my main activity until now, and start exploring a lot of the aspects that I didnĘt even try in EVE...
- I only recently I'm capable of running level 3 missions - I never ever run a level 4 mission - Cosmos ???? Ok what the hell is that ???? - Complexes ???? oh those little triangles that appear in my overview once in a while
Now I'm seeing all this features in Kali... I might give a look at it... it will be interesting for a while for sure, to make different things ... in then end I will know where I will return

I cant! Trust me on that
But, where do i find PvP with purpose?
Claim space.
Let me elaborate. Sure, it may not be the way to get yourself into the next shiny ship, and it may not fatten your wallet, but if you can do it, you have done something far greater.
I was in a group like yours awhile ago (Reformation) and while it was fun to win the little battles, BoB was right in telling us they were meaningless battles. Pure PvP corps in no alliance may become famous for their killboard, but you aren't really having any effect on the game, and you are starting to sense that. When you play to have an effect on the game, it has an effect on you.
The problem with joining an alliance is that you begin to engage in a form of warfare that isn't necessarily fun at all. The kind of warfare that 'makes a difference' is also the kind that drives alliance PvP'ers to despair and makes them join smaller entities like our corporation. As it turns out, making a difference and having fun are very often mutually exclusive.
When you add to that the headache of arrogant or incompetant alliance leadership, total lack of cooperation between corporations within the alliance itself and the lack of available targets due to NAP syndrome, you end up seeing the attractions of just PvP'ing for the hell of it.
I'll admit that my perspective on alliances is a little skewed (having been part of 3 of Eve's worst alliances, Xelas, Kaos and VOID) but I can honestly say that the vast majority, if not all, alliances in Eve are suffering from these problems right now.
I agree with you
