BoB are a tough cookie but they aren't invulnerable.
Sort out your FC's ASCN, and be unpredictable.

Edited by: welsh wizard on 29/09/2006 10:15:28 The discussion about this whole 'node crashing' debate is a complete waste of time and totally besides the point. When it boils down to it, its completely out of the players hands.
Neither side is at fault here, the server is. The server should be able to handle this strain.
Hypothetical situation: BoB invade key ASCN outpost system with 200 strong fleet. Capital ships are in place and have begun to remove the large pos' in system.
Right, ASCN have to respond don't they? They want to play the game and they want to defend their key outpost station. Why shouldn't they bring 600 people? "Because they'll cause a node crash!!!" Perhaps, but that isn't their fault is it?
It's the servers.
"But CYVOK condones massive lag out tactics in order to crash the node and save his system!!!" Besides the point because it can't be proven either way. CCP will have to turn a blind eye because they realise the server should be able to handle it. In their eyes and mine it isn't the paying customers fault.
So Nez and co, best just forget about it. There is only one way this problem is ever going to be solved and thats if CCP work overtime to ensure it doesn't.
It's a technical issue not an issue of morals.
End.

Seems like both sadly. We've had reports of ways of deliberate methods of causing node crashes (not accusing anyone and they have been bug reported of/c).
You know as soon as I posted that I regretted it.
What I should have said is "It's a technical issue, whether its an issue of morals or not is besides the point".
edit: As for questionable methods being used to deliberately create lag, I've seen it to. Very recently infact, we're letting it slip this time though.

Edited by: welsh wizard on 29/09/2006 12:07:58 Best thing to do is stop talking about it and see what happens.
Make sure CCP know where the big engagements are gonna take place and see how it goes.
If it does cause CCP HQ to explode in a fiery fireball of death due to server overload then we can ***** about it.
