Why for the life of me eve in window mode isn't resizeable is beyond me.. but ignoring that for a moment...
is there an easy way to add a custom resolution to the pull down resolution selector? If nothing else, I will have to install powerstrip and add some fake resolutions to my system so I can pick it in eve, but there should be a cleaner way.

If you have an Nvidia card open the NV control panel and select the 'Screen Resolutions & Refresh Rates' panel. The custom res button is in there. |

I dont want to run my MONITOR at the weird res, i want to run EVE at the weird res. basiclly my second monitor is 1280x1024, but I keep other stuff open on it so I can't run fullscreen for my alt account. So I want to run it at a custom rez, namely 1280x975 (or so). My only choices from within eve are 1280x1024 or 1024x768.

Ah. But no one said to run your monitor permanently at that odd resolution. Just to add it. Once you've added the custom resolution, follow these steps.
1. While Eve is in fullscreen, open the Graphics option and select the new custom resolution. 2. Close the options window. This will ofcourse make your monitor run at that resolution. 3. But then you press Alt+Enter to switch it to windowed. 4. You can now run your windowed Eve at the odd resolution.
Hope that explains,

Eve is a 3 year old game, its rather silly they have such a crude resolution selection method while in window mode.

True, but one good thing about it not being easy, is that you won't accidentally resize the window and screw your chat, items, cargo and what not window positions in the game.

Why don't you try what I suggested before complaining? Eve takes its list of available windows sizes from the system's list of available SCREEN resolutions. So adding a screen resolution of 1280x975 makes that res available as a window size within Eve. |

Will this also work for 3840*1024? So far i havent been able to set EVE to anything higher then 1280*1024 since i hooked up my third screen, before i could still just select 2560*1024, which had the middle between two screens as a downside.
anyways, gonna try it out asap.

Added the custom resolution in, and eve won't display it as a choice.
May have to reinstall eve to get it to notice the change.

Custom resolutions are only visible as a choice for fullscreen and only if you select the right refresh rate (60, 70, 75 Hz or whatever)
That is why you must use Alt+Enter to switch to Windowed mode, and NOT the Graphics Options to switch, once you have selected and applied the custom resolution in fullscreen.
