Greetings, fellow pilots!
I've come to make a simple request:
Please share your stories of good deeds that others have done for you.
Did anyone ever help you out when you were down on your luck? Has a perfect stranger come to your aid in space? Is there a shoulder upon which you often cry?
Good people seem to be underappreciated. I think it would be nice if we all show some gratitude for the do-goodery that has brightened our lives.
Also, let's try to be classy here and refrain from patting ourselves on the back.

I only remembered those who shot at me while I was down on my luck, those who shot at me when I was in need of aid, those who shot at me when I needed a shoulder to cry on and those who shot at me out of the blue.
So I shot others while down on my luck, shot others when I needed aid and shot others when I want to cry. And also out of the blue.
Jokes aside, the only good people I had ever encountered are baseliners. There's far too many names and details to truly remember in full.

Terra Matar taught me to respect my heritage, even if I couldn't understand it. I admit, the process on this has been slow, and I may have said some inflammatory things, and I am still no fan of the Republic; I am however, no longer ashamed of my heritage. That has been like a burden lifted off of me. So, everyone who was a part of that organization has my appreciation.
Also, when I was down and out, feeling bad about friends parting in different directions, Ghost Hunter was there for me, offering me purpose and a place within his alliance, and to that I am eternally grateful. |

Your timing is interesting, Norrin. Just last night I found myself surrounded by friends supporting me to help me get through some personal difficulties.
I can't tell a long story now, as I'm feeling self-conscious about dictating this. But, I can name people who have helped me along my way.
Aria Jenneth, for showing me a path to hope. Garion Avarr, for being a father to me that my heritage has denied. Nicoletta Mithra, for believing in me and seeing past my anger. Vincent Pryce, for always having my back. Halcyon Ember, for giving me a home. Cassandra Blackflayme, for chasing away the nightmares.
There are others, so many others. And together, they make me wealthier than any amount of ISK ever will. |

Hmm, well, I suppose a few names come to mind.
Firstly, I'd say Aria Jenneth, who was the first pod pilot I met to go out of her way to speak to me when I was clueless new Capsuleer, even without having to ask, and talk to me extensively about what to expect as a Capsuleer and how best to deal with the other people in the general community, as well as providing me with a lot of interesting private discussion on more occasions then I could count down the road. Though logically unlikely, I hope that she's doing well, wherever she is.
Secondly, Natalcya Katla, for picking up where she left off, as well as just being someone to confide in. She may not be perfect - Something many people have gone out of their way to remind me of - but she's far kinder and more understanding then the vast majority of Capsuleers I've met.
And I suppose I'd also say my CEO, Saede Riordan, for being very understanding and discreet about an issue incredibly personal to me despite me never returning the favour with her own. Also, for tolerating my presence in her system despite me being the most ineffectual and fickle employee she has likely every had.
There are probably more, but my head feels foggy today.

Ok i got something..
Dim the lights for this one...i don't know the man's name..almost as if he was some guardian angel..
It was the 15th of September 116YC...It was a hot afternoon on the planet Reschard II, i was using a Sentinel type suit carrying around a MH-82 Heavy machine gun, my job was to mow down everything in my path...very simple..but i was a slow target and could quickly be flanked..and i was
A cloaked scout sneaked up behind me and blasted me at close range with a Shotgun..i collapsed at the crushing blow combine with the weight of my suit..Before my attacker finished me off a Beautifully placed Scrambler rifle shot priced the scout's armor like it was paper
i looked over to my right to see a Shining Amarrian Logistic suit running towards me in slow motion , i swear from the looks of it the guy had angel wings...The guy was dodging bullets and tank fire as he sprinted his way towards me
The Amarrian ( i guess he was Amarrian?) dragged my dieing body into cover and stabbed me with a nanite injector, i felt a amazing rush of adrenaline and the painkillers made me feel like a new clone..He helped me to my feet and pulled out a armor repping tool and told me he has my back
I picked my HMG off the floor and mad a push for the objective, the Amarrian stayed close behind me with that repair tool patching up my armor as i took the hits, We both single handily took the objective together
Thank you based logi..Thank you |

Deuce Halcyon, my wingman and dear friend, was the one who suggested the capsuleer life to me in the first place. He then guided me through my first few weeks after graduation despite our different paths (at the time). He gave me a few ships and some starting funds, and introduced me to the Chief Executive Panel personnel that I currently work with.
Rixx Javix, inveterate pirate and vaunted mascot for lowsec piracy, blew up my first Drake and then graciously welcomed me into his corp. The members of Stay Frosty. are still family to me, and their tutelage has helped me protect the lives of my civilian employees countless times.
The greatest friends I have ever had, though, are some of my "baseliner" crew members. Nelos, my right-hand man, was a problem student in the Literary Theory class I taught in my previous life. When I became a capsuleer I gave him a job and a purpose. In exchange he has been my companion and guardian, my voice of reason, and my closest friend. |

Charles. I can't remember everything about our relationship before I went missing. I know that I had a file titled "divorce papers" on my tablet, and pages of journal entries filled with unhappiness. I know things weren't good, and that they had possibly never been good between us. But when I was kidnapped, you never gave up on me. Everyone else did. The Federation ruled me officially deceased and distributed my will to the people I thought would be there forever. They weren't. Maybe they were unhappy about it, but a week, two weeks, a month passed and they moved on. They accepted my official fate. I don't blame them for giving up on me; I would have, too. There was little chance I made it out of that station alive after it blew, and the chance grew smaller each day that passed. The math added up. It didn't matter the cause or the time, I was dead. But you never believed it. I wish I could say that you were strong for my memory, but I know you, Charles. I know you must have stopped sleeping at night. I know you must have cried and screamed until your throat bled, and then screamed some more. You haven't told me much of anything about what happened to you while I was gone. There's no need. Other capsuleers in Summit crack jokes about how determined, how obsessed you were. Those jokes fall flat. I can hear hints of fear and admiration in their tone. You found me. You beautiful, wretched man. I wasn't the same woman whose finger you slipped into a gasket ring. I remember those first weeks of neural therapy, when the brain damage was so bad I couldn't speak and could barely walk. I can recall the big dumb smile you had on your face when you helped me eat my food. You praised my progress when I was so frustrated I was pushed to tears. You may not have been strong for my memory, cheri, but you were strong for my shadow. It's been months since I've returned. You haven't stopped smiling. I drop plates and break them. I stutter and slur. You haven't once lost your patience. If anyone deserves to be appreciated as a good person, it's you.
Sammie, My goodness, I don't know where to start. You are my oldest friend, and really, I can't remember the day we first met. Then again, knowing how I was during my first year of uni, that might be a good thing. You probably remember, though. You remember everything. Your old nickname around campus was "Chipper," I don't know if you had heard that. It was because you walked around like you had a chip on your shoulder, and because your mouth could serve as a wood chipper. People go in, bloody chunks came out. It was definitely not because of your demeanor. When Charles and I talk about you privately, we still refer to you as Chipper. That's the thing, though. You never let go of grudges because you never forgot anything. When you said something, it was fact. "I'll never forgive you," "I'll be there at 930," "I will never let you forget this." Every word released from your mouth is a promise. It took a few months before I could speak your language, but when I could, I made sure you would never be able to get rid of me. You have been a pillar in my life. I joke around about being a dumb floozie during my uni years, but you know the sober facts behind the humor. I was often drunk, likely doing something dangerous, and always acting out because I was miserable. I needed the stability you gave me. You said you would be there at 930, you would show up on time, right to the second, and even something as small as your timeliness made my life more bearable. I could rely on you, although I couldn't rely on anyone else. Especially myself. Sometimes, I sit alone and smile to myself, because I'm so relieved you and Charles connected while I was gone. I know he was broken. He doesn't talk to anyone he was friends with before, and I know it was because he cut everyone off in the wake of my disappearance. You, though. You didn't let him, did you? I can imagine it clearly: you must have broke into his workshop and shaken some sense into him. Or you scolded him until he pulled himself together. I'm no expert on your methods. Charles must have clung to you like a lifeboat in the deep sea, and I bet he wouldn't have made it through if not for you. Don't you think I don't know the things you've done for him and me. I thank a higher power I did meet you, even if I can't remember it, and I thank that higher power twice for convincing you to put up with me for so many years. Here, let me appreciate you for being a good person. |

The nameless pilot who first gave me enough ISK to buy an Osprey, when I was piloting my Bantam, mining out asteroids.
Aria Jenneth, first for convincing me of the irreconcilability of loyalty to both the Nation and the State, thus leading me back to the Caldari before it was too late. And also for leading me to embrace the nature of what we now are.
Ciarente Roth, who it always seemed to me was a decent person. I regret the harm my company brought to her.
Petra Bealer, who taught me that love is futile and even my mind can be broken. You'll still scream yourself to death if I find you.
The Intaki Syndicate and the Angel Cartel, with whom I traded work for protection while the Sansha hunted me.
Dex Nederland of Lai Dai Infinity Systems, who educated me in the methods of research and manufacturing.
Damar Rocarion, who I learned much from and enjoyed fighting with.
All of my former comrades at Liandri, especially for kicking off the Battle of Asakai. I would trade a large tower for several billion in fighters and fighter-bombers anytime.
And also to Diana Kim, who has done so much work to make me one of the "reasonable" Caldari. |

A recent post of mine mentions them, but they deserve inclusion in this thread:
Kohiko Sun, for offering comfort to a stranger.
Streya Jormagdnir, for your guidance and support.
More? More.
The Disciples of Ston, for inspiration.
Lunarisse Aspenstar, for her patience, critique, and assisting in Search& Rescue.
Lasariona Raske, for still making me feel like a friend while I've not been there for her.
Saede Riordan, for offering me a home.
More? Yes, but not at the moment.

If I or my young friend Kador were to name names we'd have to put our lot in with the very dedicated and respectable Classiarii that comprise PCLAS.
Aero Yassavi, Aisha Ctarl, Templar 12, and Maikyl Metsar as well as True Adamance have been through a lot over the last few years and involved in some very bitter and memorable ground combat operations against the Minmatar.....who admittedly themselves proved to be respectable, if deluded, foes.
Must also should out to Thal Vadam, Eirik Yassavi, and Humble Seeker the best HAV crewmen a Tank Commander could ever ask for as well as Ceej Mantis a fantabulous and Gal-Amarrous friend, who's 52m radius was always the subject of much talk and many hushed whispers amongst the mercenary circles. Sadly however he was subject of non consensual radius reduction surgery and was forever changed.
Lorhak Gannersien and Jason Pearson for being fellow tank commanders with a beautiful sense of humour.
I have to thank Yanarfal for his help in getting myself started in New Eden as a Pod Pilot by taking the time to fly with me, teach me the common combat controls, and general fleet commands. Especially so for tolerating and in good humour joking about a particularly poorly fit Confessor that somehow survived a fleet fight.
Samira Kernher for aiding me time and time again with ship fittings and providing a respectable role model for one for True Adamance's personal slave and all Reclaimed Minmatar.
Denak Intaki of the ILF for being a good friend to True Adamance who helped him come to terms with immortality and helped him find certainty in his spiritual purpose.....not to mention was badass scout.
Those brave souls who flew with the Dead Six Initiative mining, living in wormholes, and attempting to PvP in our infancy. 07 Sixers. You have all been wonderful communities for me to be a part of.
So many more I haven't mentioned by shoudl have. |

Anaria Qinan, a Jin-Mei, was the person who I met when I was still a rookie trying to repay my debt to the Republic Seurity Services which sponsored my training. She allowed me entry into her small mining corp and introduced me to the Sisters of Eve - and to the larger cluster outside of Heimatar highsec. She joined Gradient later and died bravely, fighting the Amarr. Rest in peace, CEO. This lolfit noob won't forget you.
Seriphyn Inhonores and Shaalira D'Arc, of Eleutherian Guard. Heroes of the Federation and friendly awesome people with whom I had a pleasure to fly into many battles together, I salute you.
My sister Ajhaira, who is more known as Jara Blackwind, a retired pilot formerly of Gradient. The most important thing for a Minmatar is family, so I dare to speak from her probable point of view here and say a few names she mentioned to me:
- Arkady Sadik; - Elsebeth Rhiannon; - Del Vikus; - Ava Starfire; - Benito Arias.
Those people were good to her once. It means that they were good to me, and I never forget.
...And, last, but not least, Saede Riordan of Alexylva Paradox who, despite obvious problems, allowed me to stay in Origin and contribute to the planetary colonization effort there. Yes, I know about the security measures, I understand why, and I don't mind. I know that I am not much of a corp asset, but I do try to show up when the alliance calls to arms.
Thank you. |

There are of course many people who i will miss here, as i have no doubt had more favors done for me then i have returned in this New Eden, so sorry if you feel you have been overlooked.
Morgan Raj (THE TASH!) and Almagar Phog from back "in the day" when Space P0lice ran Hagilur. They brought a confused noob to low-sec and gave me my first taste of blood as a capsuleer.
Sanka Coffie, Pyrric Schloric, and the rest of the old Yarr Offices crew. Sanka no longer gets to play, but they brought someone who barely knew the difference from low to null into J-Space, and made it fun.
Horak Thor, Reamorph and Mr. Barrista. you taught me half of what i now know. Let the Amarr never forget these people and T.R.I.A.D are the reason there are now more gates through the Eszur system!
To EVERYONE in the Maggots channel, you know who you are. You have fought me, fought with me, and we have all killed and have been killed in the most amazing ways. May you low-sec, gate camping scrublords never change. You are the iconoclast of pirates, and let Benurad be ruled by you guys until the last star fades from New Eden.
Finally Trinkets Friend. The mother of all shitposters, and the troll beneath every carebear Russians carrier shaped pillow. Thank you sir for giving this derpy douchebag scammer a place to call home. If 1/10th of the people in this cluster searched for the elusive "gud fights and content" you provide, the DED would have to hire more accountants just to keep up with the killmails!
For these reasons and more my Hangar, and my Gratitude are yours.
PS. thanks OP as well, refreshing subject to post on! |

Let's start from the beginning of my career, and working my way back.
Mira DeVorsha- for teaching me to be good at all I want to do, no matter what it is, and teaching me how to do it. Vicktor Hark-for teaching me armor, and how NOT to get mad. Gavin Goodrich-for helping me get my first 30 million by a trivia game. Khan Farshatok-for teaching me to die with honour, and how to kill a moffuka. Allayah- for dealing with my **** in sniggwaffe and helping me through my first hot drop. Anslo-for dealing with my **** for far too long and letting me prove my worth, even with all the **** I've been involved with. Avio- for sticking with it. Literia-for giving advice, and the Lord knows I needed it.
And there are too many others to name in one post. They know who they are. |

Just seen this one bumped and realized in the few months since I posted here a lot has changed. So, here's a new, better list.
Thal Vadam - Oath Brother, and now Battle Brother, you have taught me the meaning of service, friendship and loyalty.
Arkon Sarain - Teacher, Friend, noble man of God. There was so much you showed me, so much you could have. Be at peace in Paradise.
Bel Boma - For the delicious ice cream, stories, laughs and straight talking advice.
Bishop Amalath - Thank you for the lessons, prayers and patient understanding.
Jay Joringer - For the time in wormholes. Though I could not remain with 13 for reasons I hope one day you will understand, you were and still are a good friend. I hope my sister-in-law Kailen serves well in my stead.
13/USYSC - For the adventures over the better part of a year. Be bold pilots.
Countless Amarrian Capsuleers and the Empire itself - Lady Daphiti, Lt Kernher and your IGS posts, the members of SFRIM and Sanctum Amarria, PIE, so many to name, you have all each in some way helped me to re-embrace my Amarrian heritage, reinvigorate my faith and find a place I can truly call home. I hope to do God, the Empire and the Divine Empress justice for your hospitality and friendship.
Charles Schmidt - For the suit, and the jokes.
Ouilliam Antolliere - For helping me continue Arkon's Conference, however it ends up you didn't leave me in the dust. You shall be an honoured opponant if you do end up joining the war zone.
And finally, a special mention.
Aria Jenneth - Though our lives and souls are in different directions, you showed me kindness and compassion, and for that I do thank you. I cannot and will not walk the path you take, but I shall hold on to fond memories. Good luck in PYRE and see you in space, maybe.

I'm delighted to see people are still edifying one another here. I suppose it's only fair that I share a few names, too...
Takashi Kurosawa Takashi is the finest pilot I've ever known. When I started my career in space, he was happy to welcome me to the Venture Racing family and even let me run the show. I can't imagine a better business partner or a better friend. He's a class act all around, and I've never once seen him lose his cool. There is no one, aside from perhaps my own parents, that I trust more than Takashi.
Shalee Lianne I asked Shalee to jump off a cliff, and she did it... twice! That's friendship.
Vectra Sharpe Vectra is undoubtedly the kindest, most caring person I know. Last I saw her, she took me to help her feed children that had lost everything in a natural disaster. I'm sure that wherever she is today, she's probably helping someone less fortunate than herself. I often wonder how the powers that be managed to fit such a big heart into such a tiny person.
Niraia Niraia gave me an ISK-printing machine. How cool is that? Working at EOH has been a grand time and afforded me a very comfortable life in space. I can't thank Niraia enough for giving me a shot at it.
