(they're ogg files but you should be able to find a tool to convert them to mp3 easily enough)

 The LordsPrayer sound file is very spooky. When I played the "woman cry" file, the dog went nuts

Been too busy playing Defcon to post here.
This is the bestest best RTS game in the history of good RTS Games.
Its just so much Dammed fun. Positioning Units and Buildings. Moving said units to within launch range of the nearest large city. Commiting Firey Nuclear Genocide with said units. You get my picture.
Only playing with the Demo at the moment, just working out the best way to send them money.
Boxed copy? Steam? Will it come out in the shops?
Would you like to play a Game of Global ThermoNuclear war?

i got it off steam and i never got a email for the code and the game can't find a code for me so im stuck playing the demo= (

I don't Trust Steam tbh.
I think I'll buy a boxed Copy.

Oh. Oh my. This is very good, I heartily endorse the nuclear rain.

As for the best way to get it, I paid ú10 with my credit card, got a key, downloaded it. Job done
The house will echo to the sounds of "BOOM! Hahahahaha!" all day long now

Defcon is absoloutely brilliant. It amaze me thinkin' how much fun I get from a game of about 60 mb and 14 euros price.
Much kudos to the guys at Introversion Software, they made it again!

Yes i had some problems, worked out fine after i removed the \Steam\SteamApps\common\defcon\authkey file rebooted steam and launched the game.

There are a number of games in history that make a lot from a little.
But in a day of multi-CD games, Introversion is continuing the tradition. See Uplink for another great example

ICBM Launch mode
suddenly, weapons fire.
pop goes one sub

battleship fleet!
cancel ICBM launches

is it really worth buying it ? I mean the demo seems pretty complete, you can have full games vs the cpu etc.
what does the full game has that is very important and you dont get in demo ?
PS. Fun game, though I wouldnt go as far as saying its exceptional or the best RTS or any of this overhyped quotes.

The full game lets you pick all the various options, but most importantly, lets you play with up to 6 players.
2 player games get quite boring after a while.

I had a look at the different options and I decided that paying via paypal and then the direct FTP download as opposed to Steam (Which I hate with a furious burning passion, WHY THE HELL can't I play my copy of HL2 which I actually bought when people who have copied and *****ed versions can play all they like) which sometimes has problems with e-mails. I paid the extra ú2 to have a boxed copy sent to me too, definately worth it.

Had the same problem with steam too. I solved it though by downloading from introversion's own link and then mailing Steam to tell them to refund me for their crappy service. It's pretty poor that the Introversion support page has a bold type link for Steam problems referring to Steam's own troubleshooting page, and if you search that for Defcon you get ... 0 results  The Defcon forums probably have more info.
The game itself though - loving it. So simple to pick up but so much possibility for tactics to make it really tense in the endgame

If you're having auth problems, go into the options and clear your key, then quit the game, quit steam, restart. If it doesn't auth, do it again until it does.
It only took me one retry and now it works every time.
