The other caveat is that this seems to be a rare but actual form of carbon, which on Earth is known as Buckminster Fullerene (in honor of the pioneer of Geodesic Dome and Future architecture Buckminster Fuller). It's pretty cool.
Also, the description is more or less accurate. The stuff's harder than diamond. Valence shell of -4 4tw.
I would also like to buy some. EVEmail me in game please.

At least some of the people collect them because they think the fullerence will be useful at some point in the future.
Its not entirely honest to call it pure abandon.
Its more likely wild speculation ;p
