Do you want to own a part of EVE Online's history? Then Fanfest 2015 offers you the perfect opportunity!
During the Silent Auction at Fanfest 2015 we will auction off (among other things) actual server blades from the Tranquility server. Those blades have powered some fantastic events in the New Eden universe, but now it is time for them to retire as they will be replaced by improved hardware.
Explore all the exciting details of the Silent Auction in CCP Falcon's latest blog Fanfest 2015 Silent Auction - Servers & T-Shirts & Guns.. Oh My!

The hardware will be auctioned as decoration, with no guarantee that it's working.
However, it was all working when it was removed from Tranquility.

We'll see. Right now we're starting with this as a Fanfest exclusive, then when there's more hardware we'll consider it for the whole community.

yes, its probably worth buying them to get the data that might or might not be on the disks. i'd pay a fortune for these if i was someone that wanted something that once had the server code on it. |

We're not giving away how many will be at Fanfest at this time.

Kjode Gauk wrote:A few mandatory questions:
- Is it going to be shipped or we'll have to arrange to bring it home ourselves (including the ackward discussion with the custom officer)?
- What size are they? How much do they weight?
- Do we have spec or model or any information on the hardware?
- I'm assuming it'll come stripped of all hard disks?
- You'll have to take them home from Fanfest with you.
- They're 30mm form factor blades, so they'll easily fit into a suitcase or large carry on bag and weigh about 2kg at most.
 - They're LS20 model blades.
- Hard disks are still fitted to most of them, as far as I'm aware, but they'll be auctioned as seen.

I've already spoken to operations about this, and when the time comes, there will be server hardware blog sexy times!
