Are there any penalties (kill rights, sec status drop...) for boarding other peoples ships (for different corps) that are located in empire or 0.1-0.5 space? Are there penalties for same thing if i'm in gang with them?

1st - if the pod pilot is piloting the ship there is no way for you to board it. 2nd - if one ejected from the ship the ship is considered abadoned and any pilot that finds it can board it, anywhere in space, from 0.0 to 1.0 without any penalties what so ever. 3rd - you have to poses the right skills to pilot a certain ship before you board it, otherwise you will not be able to board it.

I'd like to see a method of removing people from their ships when they're at like 10% structure and boarding it yourself. I mean the ship is going to blow up anyway, might as well take it right? Just an idea. ===============================================

10% structure is usually when they warp out with stabs. :D

Getting someone else's ship is just like a ransom... tell them if they eject and leave you won't pod em.... if they got lots of big implants they'll usually comply

usually if they have implants like that they eject right before the ship explodes so they can try warping out and hopefully collect insurance

I think there needs to be a gang plank/swinging rope from the mailsail mod for boarding ships. Who ever heard of pirates that don't board ships and take hostages or prisoners?
What about a ship tractor beam? You don't have the skills to fly the ship? Why not tow it back to the station and sell it to someone who can, it's called salvage
Imagine someone jumping back to their Zealot only to find that a player with a t1 frig, probes and ship tractor has towed it back to the station. A good method of cleaning up space as well.

that tractor beam would be a good idea, imagine deploying it on a target that's trying to make a run for the gate, but it being tugged back by his attackers!! A much cooler form of webbing imo, since it can be used for hauling an extra ship around.

Hum,
Ship tractor beam is good idea but would make more sense if you could only use it on un piloted ships plus maybe ships that have less than 50% structure?
You could make a career out of those shuttles abandand at stations!!!
I'd love to see an Ibis pulling along a Domi and chuckling to his mates, proud of his latest kill. It's be like a hunter with his latest kill showing off as he comes back to the club house for a night of beers!!!

Edited by: Christopher Dalran on 05/10/2006 17:08:31 I would like to see the ruined hulks of the ships left floating in space and get rid of them droping everything into loot cans. You should then be able to salvge the modules that would have droped from the debris while Special ships/skills/modules/drones should increase your chance to take additional modules (more than would have droped normally) or reclaim some of the minerals/starship components that it took to create the ship.
I think it should take into account the avg rate of damage inflicted on the ship a few seconds before its destruction when determining what can be salvaged from the ship. If you slow down your DPS a few seconds before the ship is destroyed you should be able to salvage more, likewise if you pump out max damage near the end most things should be destroyed.
Perhaps sepcial modules/skills should increase your targeting precision allowing you to focus fire and avoid destroying modules allowing you to salvage more.
Special salvage ships and drones would be neat.
