Perhaps I should have reminded everyone that all you have to do to be part of "reputable" ISS is to pay a 30 million monthly fee?

I believe the IPO was fully backed by ISS as per the original offering. Maybe you can get your isk back that way?

Was it really backed by ISS, or did the CEO just say so?

It wasn't backed by ISS. P-TEC was in ISS, that's all. Funny thing that many ISS members were ensuring that it was a good investment. I also sunk a lot of money in this %&*&%%.

I pointed this out during the SMO, that all one has to do is pay a fee to join ISS, and that it wasn't backed in any way, shape or form.
Nobody noticed.

Hi,
SS and/or CT helped do the initial business plan that was all if i remember rightly.
For my part i'll hold my hands up and say, yup i put alot of faith in Hector, i even put him in my top ipo list and my trusted persons list. So i do apologise to anyone who acted on my words and invested here.
Looking back objectively without my rosy investment glasses we can see the following...
1. it was a small corp not many members (ok not so fishy but....) 2. it was in ISS (but we know just because a corp is in an alliance don't trust it blindly) 3. there were never any lockdown votes (starts to smell a bit) 4. really bad comms & a site that was never built (ok he's really not putting the work in) 5. never saw a sales thread (i never did get that answer on a investor discount) 6. launching a SMO after a few months reporting (thatĘs straight out of howtoscam101) 7. sudden appearance of a few hundred shares on the market this month at less then IPO price. (started to alarm me).
Basically i was hoping it would be fine but hey it turned out bad. EMFI had pointed out his suspicions to me a while back and id blindly kept my faith.
Remember this was one of the first wave of IPO's done. Done with little more then a wing and prayer of security, cast a-pone our isk filled eyes and bulging wallets to be gobbled up with eager frenzy.
Now we are a jaded bunch. Months and months of scam and counter measure ideas mean that a plan like P-TEC's from a relatively unknown person would never get it past the astute eyes of people like Pang, Hexxx, EMFI, DS etc.
This scam is a relic of a investment era way gone by. The SMO was regrettable, but now we learn again and move on. I feel for all those who lost big, especially Hector's former alliance mates.
The standard of business plan and IPO launch now is far better and far more secure. So letĘs look forward and consign P-TEC to history, a quickly fading memory of a more innocent time.
Best Regards,
Taurequis
p.s For the record - I invested 150 mil which i could afford to loose, got 40 mil back in divs. So down 110 mil. Bah.

Edited by: Lugz on 02/10/2006 17:07:15 I could be wrong, but I thought Serenity Steele or someone of equal stature in ISS said that the IPO had the full support of ISS. Not sure though, it was a while ago that I saw the IPO so I could be wrong.
Edit: I don't have the link to the original posting, if someone does that would be great. The Eve-Search isn't working to well for me atm.

Like Taurequis above you said, Serenity Steele and Count TaSessine merely helped Hector come up with the initial business plan (for the investment, not the scam), just as they would have helped out any other ISS corp. They never said that they were guaranteeing in any way the success of it (though I suppose they expected the best, as any good alliance directors would).

I have no doubts about that, probably even more. Things like this affect ISS credibility both for the directors and for every other corp in the alliance. Hopefully people will be able to see past this one isolated incident. ---------------------------- "Unshrink you?! That wasn't quite the link I was looking for. There was a post by on of those two saying it had full ISS backing I believe. I could have swore it was in the market discussion I'm just inept at finding stuff today
