Basically it is primarily in the title.
But I would like the option if possible to put the Guristas, Blood Raiders, Sansha or other Pirate factions or Faction Warfare Sub Faction backgrounds onto my character.
I believe that many people will identify with certain sub-factions and having the option would be preferable.
Thoughts, Ideas on this? |

"Why not?"
It would add a nice extra variety, and wouldn't be anything time-consuming or high in space to implement- they're static images, and would be easy to take care of (unless there's some coding issue, in which case all bets are off). Plenty of characters would enjoy the option

Given Sansha are basically Borg makes little sense to have a Sansha background.
Additionally as soon as this is introduced people will be pushing to have NPC's ignore them even more than at present. |

Not all Sansha are borg. Some are free willed and represent true citizenry. |

Generally supported.
But it doesn't quite make sense for pirate backgrounds to be available to a newborn character. Maybe that should be something you gain later on. Like after your standing with a NPC corp or alliance reaches 1.0 you can go into your portrait-maker-thing-whatever-its-called and find backgrounds available that weren't there before.
Or maybe player corps and alliances should be able to submit their own backgrounds to the server to be available exclusively to their members. |

npc's also desperately need this. Immersion really drops when you are talking to an agent from (eg) the Blood Raiders, and she looks like a regular person infront of an Amarr wall.
Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

Do the pirate factions even have the technology to make capsuleers of their own? I am under the impression that even the Pirate NPC capsuleers probably all have a background in one of the empires. |

Not so much. TTP=0.
+1 for sub-faction and pirate faction backgrounds though.

It's been something I've wanted to have since I started playing. I'd be very surprised if no other factions than the Empires had capsuleer technology, especially ones as technologically advanced as Sansha's Nation, or as biologically advanced as the Blood Raiders Covenant.
We even have pirate rookie ships, although they're limited edition... for now.
While we're at it, I'd also like to see NPC characters and stations from those factions to look more like the faction they belong to. As has been posted before, you don't expect a Blood Raiders station to look that much like an Amarr one. |

I was just thinking this same thing today
I would also like backgrounds for some of the main ship corps such as Kaalakiota or Boundless Creation
but it would no doubt be simpler just to add in the pirate ones
